Default airtel is not available in my area they told me that the conection is full here

its true i am calling airtel for the last one month and they keep on saying that the connection is full here and they cant give me a connection until someone cancels his connection, i m having mtnl limited connection but i dont want to continue using it as its service is very bad in my area due to its very less customers in my area(most people here have airtel)

last time when i spoke to airtel person they again told me to wait for may be 3 days or a week or a month or any period

so what should i do now? i want a unlimited connection with good support service

only three option for me are

    1. airtel(for this i have to wait for long)
    2. reliance(less costly than airtel)
    3. mtnl(change my plan to unlimited, its cheaper than both but its serivce...huh)

please suggest me which one i should final

    thanks

If Reliance metro ethernet is available in you locality then opt for it, main advantage you get with reliance is NO FUP at all whatsoever and same upload rate as download! on the other hand airtel gives poor ul rate and too with FUP imposed on their so called UL plans!

Even I was told the same, when I had applied for an Airtel Broadband connection. However, they made some alterations to the machinery located near to my residence (to allocate the connection to more people, including me).

And now I am on Airtel BB.

Metro Ethernet is mother of ADSL technology which Airtel and MTNL uses and its backed by Fiber Optic rather than Copper and it support speed upto 20MbPS!
    FUP means Fair Usage Policy,

indeed Reliance is better than Airtel and MTNL in the following

    -Optic Fiber Connectivity
    -No FUP
-No hassle of modem SNR etc
    -NO MODEM needed at all
    -same upload speed as download

FUP is introduced to stop bandwidth hogger s who download 24X7 hence choking down whole network to stop them ISP's like Airtel&BSNL introduced FUP,in FUP plans once you exceed your allocated data usage your speed will be downgraded to 256 or 512kbps! so high speeds plans from BSNL and Airtel are not pure UL.

In metro Ethernet they give connectivity via 4 pair cat 5 cable which goes straight in ur lan card thus no modem is needed just plug than lan cable and go!

apart from Metro Ethernet Reliance also gives connectivity on ADSL for that you need modem, yes you do need to login through web page.

once you logged in then that session will be active for 24 hours on the other hand once you logged in and haven't transferred any data then you will be auto logged out after 30 mins!

as i told you ur session will be alive for 24 hours, so if u plan to do that then you have to refresh your session, but on a continuous stretch your download will break after 24 hour but if you are on 1mbps plan then you can download 8 gb in 16 hours

Why you are confusing yourself? there is no harm in using reliance you can opt for reliance if you don't like it then un-subscribe it you will only loose rs 500 as installation charge.

This plan is only available for Broadnet wire-line i.e Metro Ethernet & ADSL

Please do not mislead the members. Every ISP in India is pathetic in some part of the country. Reliance might be the best for you - but not for the others.

Leave the unsuspecting consumer to take his / her own decisions instead of forcing something down their throats!

I am enjoying 2 Mbps UL (without any FUP, yes you read that right - no FUP) for just 299/- per month from Airtel. Do you see me proclaiming that Airtel is the best out there? No. I try to stay off the radar. I still keep my trusty BSNL connection as a plan B - if something should occur to this 2 Mbps UL line from Airtel

Anyway, I see that you haven't replied to waterdale's comments at http://www.indiabroadband.net/relian...e-buggers.html (DISAPPOINTED wit the Reliance buggers!!!) I would also like to know - are the other ISPs that have already wired his building doing something foolish? Or is Reliance merely trying to brush off another consumer for some unknown reason? You seem to have an extraordinary understanding about the marketing / technical aspects of Reliance - rather than the rest of the unfortunate souls like me!

@nitin_internet Take your own decision mate. Ask your friends and do your own share of research regarding the ISPs in your area. Trust me, it pays.

I agree with cool_techie_tvm. RCom seems to have lot of knowledge about RIM and clears doubts about it fast. But agressively talking bad about other ISPs isnt right either especially without a personal experience or grievance with them.

By the way I also signed up for Airtel today. Impatience 1299 plan. There is no 4mbps in my area. Since I had to pay only 250 for installation, will disconnect if get metro ethernet in my area.

Still thinking of maintaining my reliance netconnect for failover/redundancy
