Thread: Urgent Port Forwarding Help Required

Hi,
I am a newbie to this forum and I see a lot of real techies out there helping mere mortals and non geeks like me.
I had a small question...
I have browsed through the forum and was unable to find any suggestions..maybe if I have missed it please do guide me.

I have a Airtel 512 Mbps plan.
I have a Beetel 110BX1 Modem and a Netgear G54 Wireless router.
I want to Portforward. I have read the steps for Portforwarding only the Modem, but I read somewhere on the forum that both the Modem and Router needs to be configured.
Is that right? Could someone help me here please..............

Beetel110BXI is same as ut300r2u.
If you are on Dialer mode no need for Port forwarding.
Once you set modem to "Always On" PPP/PPPoE mode
( UserID/PW entered in wan page of modem )
Port forwarding( triggering) is done.
Check in portforward.com

but I read somewhere on the forum that both the Modem and Router needs to be configured.

When you connect a wifi router no need to duplicate PF.
Check your firewall settings also.
Mention specifically your special requirement/s.

The concept is the same for all routers and once you familiarize yourself with the steps, you should be able to navigate through your router settings with ease........
