    Angry Someone please help....

    Hey,

I have been using an airtel broadband connection for the last 6 years and during this time i havnt much to say about the ISP,but now i am using a 2mbps connection and i used to get around 240kbps average while using torrents and now i only get about 60-90kbps during the day and then 250+ kbps speed at night(ie from 11pm to about 7am).I contacted the airtel guy and he showed up checked my connection and said its working properly because im getting 250+kbps from direct downloads(ie downloads.cnet etc). Also im really confused because the upload speed of all my torrents is 100kbps throughout the day.

can somebody please tell me what is or wrong or how i can fix this...ive port forwarded my router too and nothing changes...

Use good torrents. Get ones with enough seeds and better seed to peer ratio. Use private trackers. They give better speed.

    This may help

    1. utorrent > Options > set up guide > Try setting your speed.

    2. utorrent > Options > preferences > Connection > Enable UPnP port mapping

    3. utorrent > Options > preferences > Connection > Enable NAT-PNP port mapping and check.

    1. You mean 200 KBps ?

512 Kbps = 64 KBps. Are you confused by this nomenclature ?

    2. Try installing Vuze and check. Or may be some error on Airtel side.

    3. Try reinstalling utorrent and check.

    4. Disable firewall/antivirus and check.

    5. If nothing works, try Bridge mode and check.

    Just wanted to confirm

Mention your modem - model and make

You can configure your modem in two modes.

    Bridge :

You need to create a dialer to connect to internet. ID and password is store in this dialer and you need to click " connect " on the dialer.

    PPPoE :

ID and password stored in the modem. You can connect to internet by switching ON your modem. Nothing to do with the computer. I presume you are in PPPoE mode. You can change it into bridge from your modem's menu page and change it to dialer mode. The advantage is that, all ports are open this mode.

This is just to check. If you switch to dialer mode, you won't be able to use two system simultaneously unless you configure one as server and another as client. Hope it is clear now.

    1. Try tcp/ip optimizer from speedguide.net
    2. Check Statistics/ADSL data. If mod mode is adsl2 +
    3. Uncheck ADSL2+ box in modem dsl menu.
    4. Check my sig link Wa 3002-g4 for modem/router settings.
    5. Check speed at mybroadbandspeed.co.uk
    and give the link here.
