Presume the modem has ONLY USB port.
If you can access Internet and surf ok,kindly upload the
USB drivers at say ziddu.com and give the link here.

Better to get an ADSl modem with ethernet port connection,
    for increased speed etc.
USB 11 Mbps ( old ) Lan 100 Mbps data transfer rate.

Some of the links given in this forum, are not available now.
    error 404.
wait : searching in SMC company site.
spent about 20 minutes. SMC site wants the part number of the modem .

    usually img file.
No harm even if you upload all the three !!
mention the size of each file.
CRC stands for a Cyclic Redundancy Check -- a number that tries to insure the contents of the file are as they're supposed to be.

    From google search:
create a directory with the name “SMC” and place the extracted files in this directory.
The actual update file has the extension of .DLF This will be important ...
The current version of Firmware that resides in the Barricade will be displayed. ........

    2.
Select the file with .bin or .dlf extension ..
    3.
Mention the file sizes and check whether it can be uploaded in this thread.
