Default Best Real Unlimited Service Provider

    Hi,

My name is Ashwin and the reason I am starting this thread it to switch from Airtel to some service provider who gives me real unlimited.

I have been on Airtel's 1Mbps Unlimited plans for over 3 years.

    Home 2222 Where I paid 2222 a month for 1Mbps.
    Freedom 1699 where I paid 1699 a month for 1Mbps.

Airtel upgraded me to 2Mbps in June and I was loving it.

Download speeds of 240KBps on torrents were common (while downloading legitimate files of course...)

In the last 4-6 weeks my speed has been varying from 60-240 KBps and I called and complained.

They found out that FUP was not being calculated properly and fixed it.

Ever since, I am on a 1Mbps connection paying 1700 a month and my torrent speeds first were 100KBps (800kbps) then 75KBps (600kbps) then 55-60KBps and now I even see 30-40 KBps.

The worst part is that my connection keeps getting broken (Reply timed out when pinging a site) constantly so I cannot download anything via http either without resorting to download managers.

Since Airtel has otsourced its maintenance service to agencies and hence bad service, had to call bug them for weeks to get my router changed and the issue still persists.

NOW I am disgusted with all this, and I see BSNL offering FTTH 1mbps for 2999 a month, is this my only option? Does any one know of anything else?

    Is FTTH worth that much?

FYI, Reliance is not available in my are so I cannot choose the 1499 for day 1mbps and night 2mbps plan.

I am disgusted with airtel and want to change, I do not want to pay my hard earned money to these ppl, who are bordering on scamming.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

    Regards,
    Ashwin

Can you tell where are you situated....

well if you ask me i am living in bangalore and found out that ISP named Railwire here are indeed 'something' but i have heard that they provide service only in bangalore so you will perhaps envy me xD

Your best bet would be to switch to BSNL and take the Home 500 C plan in which you get night unlimited @2 Mbps which is indeed worth the money which you pay for... just automate your downloads... no big deal...

    Thumbs down

BSNL plans are better than any other service provider. Also if you are planning to go with Airtel, you should think. Because their customer service is very very worst.
