    I understand that you are seeking the opinion of Reliance BB users. I am an Airtel BB user and I get 78ms while pinging to 203.116.28.13.

    Thanks man.Those are very good ping.Then why i am getting such bad ping.In crysis2 while playing i saw some Indian playing it.I asked them which ISP they were using.Few were based in Mumbai and were using airtel.They were getting 70 to 80 ping.But mine is always high.What's the problem?Other than this airtel rocks, gives me speed of 280 to 290kbs download speed.I have 2 mbs plan.Top notch support.

    Try setting the ADSL Modulation in your modem from ADSL2+ to G.DMT. It reduces latency by nominal amounts..

    @Pcgamer2010

    I am sorry; I did not understand your query. What side-effects are you talking about?

    Changing the ADSL modulation to G.DMT will increase the overall stability levels of your connection. Also verify whether you are getting connected in "interleaved". That can also increase the latency levels.

    Fast path and interleaving are certain methods with which the modem gets connected with the DSLAM. In short, fast path = good pings / lower latency and vice versa.

    Yes. I am using G.DMT with my connection. Initially it was on ADSL2+. The connection was quite unreliable back then with frequent disconnections.

    You may read about interleaving and fast path over Latency and Interleaving | DSLReports.com, ISP Information and ::. Kitz - Interleaving .::

    I do not use the modem provided by Airtel. I use a D-Link router running on RouterTech firmware..

    The interleaved / fast path is set by the DSLAM. It takes into account the various parameters required to stabilize the connection optimally and selects either interleaved or fast path. In some countries, we can call the ISP personnel and ask them to set it manually to fast path. I do not know whether it is viable with Airtel BB.

    I cannot comment on the second query because I am unsure whether changing the modem would alter the ping times..
