Thread: Wierd problem since today!!!

Hi friends i joined this forum today to adress a very wierd problem that's been happening to my internet connection today.
Today around 5 pm and i switched on my computer and my internet..when i was connected i opened my firefox browser and a page opened unexpectedly which said "Your modem is being upgraded.Please wait." and i could could see my modem lights flashing indicating data transfer.After 2-3 mins my modem rebooted and then internet worked fine.After i put a you tube video on download through "Internet Download Manager" after 15-20 mins i started to get reeeally slow dld speed like 5-6 kBps and webpages were opening very very slowly..i decided to reboot my modem and pc and i did just that.Well after that i connected alright but now i am sometimes disconnected from the internet in 15-20 mins even though no modem lights go off wen i disconnect and i reconnect automatically..also i noticed once that my data light was not on when i connected after reboot,but this just happened once.
I am posting this problem right now and i dunno wen i might disconnect i also called airtel CC and the guy didn't seem to have any idea abt wat that modem upgrade page was and i also called 2-3 friends of mine who have an airtel connection and they didn't see that page or anything and there net has been working normally.Sorry for such a long post its just that i wanted to specify each and every detail /
I am not a network geek or something but i have some knowlege....my modem is Beetel 110 TC1 and my operating system is win7 64 bit.I am sure that the problem has started after this page showed up.A friend of mine told me that a firmware of a modem cannot be updated online so its really very odd.I just wanted to know wether any of you guys have encountered this page ever and if not then is there a way to solve the prob.I may not get disconnected and just assume it as just bad luck but i am pretty sure the problem will be back.Airtel CC was no help for me.Thnx in advance...btw i am from Lucknow
I also noted that sometimes my downloads will be working but i won't be able to view any webpages.....normally thy open although at a slow rate when dld but now sometimes they don't open at all irrespective of my dld.

So i don't think mine's updated..i am going to disable ACL and CWMP....r u sure this won't cause any issues ..as i have never changed modem's settings

Edit-sorry i was looking in the wrong sectuin,,my firmware version is TIB-OQ-013 so its been indeed updated....should i still disable ACL and CWMP?However i am not sure if this was the firmware i had before as i had never looked at my firmware version.

Well its been some time and i also downloaded some videos and didn't face any slow speed or disconnection as of now...if i get any more problems.....i'll post back...thnx ..its just that i am still not able to guess what was that "modem upgrade msg" stuff.I'll report back if i get any problems.
