    why dont you download with any idm... there are some sites where you can put the torrent url and you get a link little later (some hours) which is accessible as a regular download...

    i dont know much about such sites... others please feed -in

    My speed from last 4 days is same in the morning and night, only problem is with torrents and some times youtube. Might be there is some other reason, utorrent show connection working ok, green tick mark and direct downloads work perfect. Hope it ends soon.

    @pisces m As u r getting good download speeds on regular dld i am guessing its airtel playing dirty here with torrents.Even my youtube sometimes works slow with airtel and only way i am able to watch videos is to dld it via IDM.Also there are tons of posts on other sites where airtel has been suspected of throttling youtube and file sharing sites like megaupload,mediafire etc.Hope they get resolved soon.

    However i have noticed since past 2 days that airtel uncaps speed after 7pm here in Lko on torrents and resumes capping at daytime(dunno the time)..eariler it was 11:09pm.Btw what is ur speed post FUP?

    Thumbs down Hi

    guys.

    i got some information to share.

    i m using bitcomet for downloading torrent movies. after seeing download speeds of not more than 8 kb i was got irritated and thought of complaing to airtel cc. 4 times airtel technical cc has disconnected my call. they have said they cant support third part software. port forward some guys not even know.

    so tried using another client and the same result continued. but its back to 2mbps speed after 11.30. my question is why no good speed before 11.30?i m sure airtel is blocking torrents. sometimes i get good speed. but most of the times its not happening. but even tho i did not port forward utorrent network icon says ok (green icon) and it says port is forwarded. I dont know how?...

    @Ankurslayer
    It was 5-6 months back when i crossed my FUP and post FUP speed was around 400kbps. I generally dont download much thanks to FUP and Airtel throttling speeds on Streaming websites.

    On one hand Airtel throttles Youtube and on other hand Airtel many times tie up with youtube for IPL and other things.

    My plan 999 1mbps 15gb limit.

    @skybell I guess then that's confirmed that airtel has set up diffrent times for capping and uncapping torrents in diffrent cities.R u from Lko too?

    @pisces m There must be a time when airtel uncaps ur torrent.Ur regular dlds are going well so there is no issue with ur connection.For confirmation pick a torrent and let it run for 24 hrs straight although u have to keep an eye on when ur speed increases..(and i am sure it will).And you r right abt the youtube part....airtel suckssssssssssss!!!!!!!!

    @ankur: ya ur right. speed is good sometimes and only airtel knows at wat time they open full dedicated speed. but for my surprise yesterday the moment i started download i got full speed the whole night. i started download by 7pm and left it for download while sleeping. when i woke up by 7 in the morning the download reached 10 gb. i was happy to see this. i need to check for today whether it continues or not.

    Default airtell do not block torrent

    blocking the torrent download and keeping eye on each and every computer is out of reach of airtel...moreover airtel will not be wanting to do it as it will reduce their costumers only.

    Default Hi

    @mohit:

    yes. Airtel cannot have eye on each and every customer. i believe they might have firewall which will help them in reducing the download usage for downloaders like us.

    see u may know some guys use to download 24/7 and they keep making the modem active. so guys pay for it and they comsume more bandwidth also. see we cant go to airtel saying that our download is slow in torrent. they will simply ignore our request telling that they cant support for third party softwares at all. so if they have firewall and block our torrent downloads we cant go to anywhere to register case on airtel. they know it.

    bcoz direct downloads are 100 percent ok. so still airtel delivers speed dedicated to us except torrents. they know majority are downloading thru torrents as we get free movies,games,etc thru torrent easily. we shud be lucky to get good speed continuously.

    Checked my Account today. I am getting around 1mbps on torrents right now. Started at around 8pm and its 10pm and speed is OK.

    Will check it tomorrow morning again to see if its still normal or its capped. but yesterday at this time 8-10pm the speed was 400kbps. So will check it tomorrow to make it sure if problem has been resolved or its data capping

    How do they block the torrents ? coz as far as i read, the torrent protocols negotiate the ports in realtime and as such dont have fixed ports.

    Now its confirmed after checking for so many things. Airtel is blocking torrents between 11am-9pm. The speed gets normal on torrents between 9pm-11am. Even asked Airtel engineer if torrents are being blocked, he says NO. now for downloads need to change the timings at my end.
