Thread: Nokia Residential Router 1600 wifi connectivity

I have recently got a Nokia Residential Router 1600 to make use of Wifi internet on my mobile. I use it for a wired connection with my Desktop PC and Wifi internet connection for my mobile - N97 mini.
The problem is with wifi connection and can be described as follows:
I usually keep my router switched off and switch it on only when required. It works with Desktop (Wired connection) without any problems but does not get detcted on mobile. I have to go to settings page (192.168.1.1) using desktop, save/apply settings (without any change) and reboot from there and then my mobile starts detecting the same. It has become useless for me this way as I always have to switch on my Desktop PC to use wireless on my mobile phone.
Am I missing some obvious setting here? Please help.

Are you on "Dialer" Mode Using WAN miniport etc ?
Enter USERID/PW in system Window to connect to Internet and surf ?
If so,
Change over to PPPoE mode ( Uncheck box "Bridging" in WAN page )
Enter/store userid in WAN settings page of Modem /router.
Prefer Enable DHCP ( In LAN menu page )
Now the moment you switch on Modem ONLY the wifi SSID will be
detected by N97.
Check signature link WA300_g4 below . ( menu pages will be similar )

Are you able to see the SSID (connection name) in your mobile / laptop when you switch ON the modem ?

If nothing works, reset your modem to factory settings, configure again and check.
