Thread: Looking for Airtel Broadband for my Voip connection!

Hi Friends,

I have sent a Sunrocket Voip phone to my parents living in Hyderabad, IN. Now the biggest challenge is selecting the broadband connection for my home. My requirements are:

1. Minimum speed of 128 kpbs.

2. Internet connection will be routed through a linksys gizmo provided by sunrocket. From the gizmo connection goes to the PC. Now I should be able to connect to internet without turning on the PC.

3. Internet always ON. I am looking for a connection where internet is always ON and should not depend on logging on through a PC. No user id password funda please.

4. My parents rarely use PC, they are only concerned about the voip phone. Hence I am looking for a service provider who has better customer care who can help them out in case of any technical difficulties.

I am planning to take Airtel broadband connection. Please let me know your views on that. Is anyone using Airtel broadband for Voip?? Airtel seems to be cost effective for me, because I can do away with my existing landline connection and can replace that with airtel landline which comes with the broadband connection.

Please help me guys. I am really trying hard to set my voip connection at home.

taking airtel connection is a great advantage, because 24*7 customer support, and very quick response and no disconnections like bsnl and other local cable.

Hi Prasad,

I guess you seem mor elike a brand ambassador to Airtel. The local franchise owner in MP charged 1500 for installation as 500 which they charge daily. Let me know how can I get my money back in this fashion.

u said it is a franchisee, then How u paid 1500 Rs without enqiry. Just walk to Your nearest Airtel Broadband office and raise a complaint and fire on them. I hope u will get a good solution.

Have come across this amazing classifieds website called Poopka . Think the URL is Welcome to Poopka Have a look. Maybe that will help you out. I am not marketing the site. Just came across it and thought of spreading the word around. Its really good. Better than Craigslist or Gumtree for sure and it all free.

SunRocket has closed down. Vonage VOIP may work. ( working in Chennai)
Google BSNL and select AP or Hyderabad circle. links
for Dataone BB connection. Max 2 Mbps speed Rs 250/ modem Rs 60/- 1 Gb download etc.
