Smile Airtel 2Mbps Max 75GB Plan Review - Chennai

    Hi Friends,

    Got a connection today. Plan is 2Mpbs 75 Gb(After FUP its 256Kbps) - 1599 per month.

After a hard fight and continuous follow up i made it possible to get connection. I applied last month 19th June. But got today only. It looks like Airtel is having some problem at the back end in giving new connections. It seems there are lot of new requests for Airtel Broadband as soon as the new plans are released. so i guess delay might be to properly give up the service to customers. Only God knows the real issues.

Yes. I hv started this thread to express my review about the 2Mbps plan. Please wait for a day or two. I need to check abt the plan i got. Will keep you guys updated. And i request guys who took new plans or whoever in 2Mbps - 75GB Max Plan can share your reviews and service by Airtel which will help others who are interested in Airtel.

I will update as soon as verifying the quaility of this plan. Thanks.

    Smile hi

ya. Checked the connection. i tried every possible downloadings thru torrents, direct downloads, video streaming, file uploads, online gaming, etc.

Download speed is good only with direct downloads. example sites like mediafire links, megaupload links. not good with other file sharing sites. I got around 260 KB per second average when i donwload files directly. But speed is not good in torrents. I dont know how to forward port for my modem (Binatone DT815 ADSL2+ Router). I tried every possible searches to port forward. But no helps found in websites. Even checked portforward.com. My modem is not listed there. so helpless. Though now i m satisfied with downloads other than using torrent. But i use torrent downloads lot.

If anyone can help me how to forward port for my modem Binatone DT815 ADSL2+ Router i will be very thankful...In torrent downloads i got average 90 KB per second not even 1MBPS.

And checked youtubes and streaming sites. Youtube is quite good in buffering. but not good in some sites like news channels, sports videos. There is little slow in video streaming and buffering is not that good.

other than that surfing and usage of uploading files i got wat i need to get.

i have attached the download speed in this thread. Please check for urself guys. and please if anyone can help me with port forward pls let me know. Thanks guys..

i saw some threads saying airtel is throttling torrent speed. If thats the case then i dont think port forwarding will work. Changing DNS to open dns or google dns may work though.

DNS has nothing to do with download speeds, if Airtel wants to throttle download speeds, theres nothing u can do to change that.

Dont troll and post about things u dont know, keep your mouth shut and dont mislead people by giving them the impression that you actually know and understand any of this..

same goes for u basically many ISP are bcs of film and audio industry trying fight against P2P sharing sites ...so if they find torrents download they can slow down only torrents i read an article about it but u can overcome this in newer version of utorrent and get regular speed by tweaking utorrent ...

i am only telling about getting slow download on healthy torrent with high ratio where has other downloads are fine .
