    Thumbs down BEWARE: Airtel Broadband shifting not available in major cities like chennai

    Airtel is currently facing few technical issues in broadband shifting
    Airtel Nodal office has officially sent an email (Please find email below) regarding our request for shifting airtel broadband inside chennai wont happen due to technical reasons.


    Dear Mr. Panjaa,

    Warm greetings from airtel Telemedia Services.
    With reference to your e-mail dated on 18/10/2011, you have expressed your concern regarding shifting for your airtel account number 16373392.
    We regret to inform you that we would not be able to process your request towards shifting owing to technical reasons.
    We regret for the inconvenience caused to you.

    We got this response after 25 days from our request for shifting

    Airtel is prioritising "warm" language over actual service. They send out messages "thanking you for this opportunity to be of service" when they should be apologising that something went wrong in the first place. The lunacy of a company obviously run by marketing men!

    "Owing to technical reasons" --- more nonsense. A straight answer like, perhaps, there is no airtel cable in that street, would be acceptable. This marketing-speak is not.

    Taking 25 days to come up with this non answer is also blatantly bad service. 25 hours should have been enough.

    You are right to be angry, but, equally, your heading, Airtel Broadband shifting not available in major cities like chennai, is not justified. They have refused to, or not been able to, shift your connection. Unless there is more information, this does not amount to shifting not available.

    If you have more information ... please do post it!

    I tried that once. You listen to an announcement telling you how valuable your custom is until you finally get cut off with a message that they are all busy.

    Angry Asked for Shifting - ended in cancellation

    **** (not SHIFT) HAPPENS WITH AIRTEL

    Nothing then. Not even an explanation.

    They have a funny idea of what "disclaimer" means. But, perhaps their misuse of the word is accurate after all: Disclaimer: you can do the following stuff but it will be a waste of time
