Thread: Need help with wifi and lan

I have airtel broadband.
I have 450TC1 modem which airtel gave me.

I could connect to wifi through my phone when my lan is off.

As soon as I turn on my pc and my lan is connected my phone is no longer to detect my wifi.

I am using wicows xp sp3.

Can you help me so that I can use internet on my pc and mobile at same time.

I not sure whether you can opt for the both at the same time, but still can you check with the service providers? The technical guys should help you out on this.

Yes, it is possible. Using more than one WiFi device and desktop at the same time since a long time. Takes hardly five minutes to setup.

WiFi devices include Android device, Symbian, XP and Windows 7 PC.

I am facing a new issue.

My phone wont catch my wifi.
It catches wifi of my neighbours but not mine.

Yours could be different.
Except for SSID ( single or multiple) and WDS options, very simple
settings.
Presume Lan mode is working properly.

I just cant do it.
I made a video of my settings.

Does the wifi ssid appear in Phone ?

change MSS default 0 /MTU to default 0 or 1492 or 1460 and try.

select blank Index for OUI and Vendor ID ( may not be necessary )

Disable acl cwmp, which allows Airtel to access your modem.( do)

Try without any authentication.

make complaint to AIRTEL CC, who will send their Tech staff.
to change router or upgrade the Firmware. or check up the connection.

Problem only with phone connection.

And 3 . I can surf net via LAN mode.

Settings working for LAn mode. Ok.

4 Check channel number selected in wifi page should be Manual Ch 11.

5. confirm you have a laptop or check in friend's
laptop the ssid you selected appears. and get connected to internet.

6. Confirm ssid as entered appears in cellphone.

it seems it didnt worked either.

I also tried enabling WDS mode(dont know what is it).
What is group rekey interval(mine is set to 0).

I think I need someone else settings.
My wifi light on router is green.

same thing dey told me bandits all of dem!!!!!!! dey say use on laptop not on mobiles

Very simple:

WIFI router : ( hundreds of models in use )
ANY wifi router broadcasting an SSID with a security key ( if used )
the name should appear in your cellphone/smartphone.
To verify the wifi is working use a laptop in wifi mode and surf some web site.
Here we try to help in the settings of the wifi router.

Phone setup is different for so many models/OS,
It is difficult to locate the fault, unless the user is able to confirm
that wifi mode is working in the phone on its own network. (2g 3G etc )
or some other SSID's appear, ( in proximity range )

Give correct details instead of saying I have the same problem !

If it is working on laptop, WiFi settings may be fine. You need to see if you can detect any other network than yours. If not, see proper settings for your mobile is done. You can take help of a dealer if you find it difficult to do it yourself.

i bought beetel 450tc1 router frm airtel

now i m able 2 use wifi on lappy

but not able 2 connect to it via my nokia e63.....

my cell detects d wifi of my router

but wen i start browsing it says no gateway reply

further i can use wifi on my e63 at my frends place he has mtnl wifi

i cant understand why i cant use wifi frm airtel but can surf on mtnl wala router wid d same cell e63?????

Try without any security key.
Confirm SSID1 or 2 as entered/selected in router appears in Phone N63.

For testing:
Download application "connectify" and install in laptop1, connected to Airtel.
Will work as an AP ( access point ) limited range ) .
