Thread: Can I go with Airtel..Advice pls...

Hi,

Need a broadband connection and considering Airtel for it, because i heard their customer service is good. Have opted for max 10gb plan.

Can i go with Airtel?
My major interest for broadband is downloading movies and some simple browsing.
In how many days i ll get the connection if i applied..
Your feed backs are very much appreciated..

Airtel service is indeed good but their plans suck because they apply FUP. Check the plans carefully first.

How many days it will take for a connection? There is no definite answer. If their network cables are already in the locality, you will get in a one day even. Better check with them first.

I strongly advise not to pay first. Tell them that you will pay when they give you the connection. They may not agree and insist on advance.

Airtel is too good when it comes to any of its products & services. But there'll always be some who like it and some who don't and either ways they have their own reasons.

First, try and ask people living in your locality and city about the service provider they are using and why. If Airtel is good, go for it. Price wise too, Airtel is not bad. If not Airtel, my second bet would be Tikona.

Installation is done usually within 3 days of your call.

BTW, i am not able to fully grasp what does FUP means???
IN Airtel, 10GB max plan, is 10GB is fup?
will i get 2mbps speed upto 10 gb and 256 kbps beyond that?

I called them on saturday, they have promised today that they ll let me know whether it is possible of not to give connection in my area..

If airtel fails, how about BSNL or Tikona (Just now i heard about this , seems a good alternative..)

FUP means Fair Usage Policy... It is usually used for unlimited broadband plans... Yes, you got it right... It would be 2 mbps till 10 gb and 256 kbps after that...
DON'T go for BSNL/MTNL, you will cry to death... It's terrible... If money is not a concern, go for Airtel or Tikona... If money is a concern and speed is not, go for BSNL/MTNL... You could also try Tata Photon or MTS depending on how much you can fetch for internet in a month...

FUP is also known (more colloquially) as "F*** you policy".
