Rep Power: 3 | Hello All I'm looking for VOIP Telephone Service in India, something exactly like Vonage do here in US. They just issue a phone set, phone number and VOIP adapter and thats it, all you need is broadband connection at home. I don't want a PC to be running like we have to using Skipe & Stanaphone, in short no PC based calling. All I should require is a broadband connection at my home. I would just hook up my VOIP adapter to my broadband and the phone will work like any regular phone. The catch is, if I buy a VOIP system here and hook the same adapter in India then I'll have a US working number in India. Now anyone from US can call this number just like a local number. Now, I want reverse of this. A Indian phone number working in US over VOIP so anyone in India can call me on that number. If you know of any such system existing in India, please reply. Any information is highly appreciatred. Regards Richerich |

Rep Power: 3 | Yes BSNL has launched VOIP services. @suvi Never ever rate googletalk above skype. Just use both and you'll see the difference there is no lag in skype and voice is much more clear than gtalk. |

Rep Power: 3 | I have been using skype for years. I had problem with the conversation getting disconnected all the time. In the last 6 months or so only I tried, gtalk. I never got disconnected from a conversation even once. From my experience with skype and google talk in florida, new york and bangalore, gtalk is better. |

Rep Power: 3 | There is a severe infrastuctural crisis in India..Forget VOIP..most of mobile internet speeds barely cross 10-15 kbps..ALl of them are seriously lame...I dont see any VOIP future in India for the next 3 years..Am couting on HUTCH to make a foray as theys eem the only operators in India to keep up with the world |
