Default Airtel - High Latency, Packet Loss and Jitter - Bangalore, Kanakapura Road Are

Hi there, Check this out pingtest DOT net/result/53145948.png

And as we all know Airtel's support personnel are as technically competent as a potato - he made me clear temporary files and check speed on Airtel's Speed Check page to tell me everything is in order. I got frustrated and hung up on him.

Now, Wanted to check if anyone else is having similar issues? Especially if you are around Kanakapura Road area in Bangalore and this has been the case since the last 3 days.

I have a 4 MPPS, 30 GB plan and have had to purchase 50 GB x 2 times this month for work related purposes, and this is what I get for 6k from Airtel

    Appreciate your input and help!

Is the situation the same throughout the day? Does disconnecting and reconnecting help in any way? Every time you do that, you will be connected to a different access concentrator (depending upon the time of the day) and hence, the results may vary.

Out of curiosity, I did the same test on my connection.

Subscribers usually prefer lower pings to international servers. Helps a lot while doing online gaming / VOIP sessions and other critical applications.

I have this issue, my Latency to servers in Singapore should be somewhere between 45ms -60ms , from yesterday onwards my latency to servers in singapore went from 50ms to 250ms-270ms.I usually get about 200ms to europe servers.
I called the customer support today and asked them why my latency to south asian servers went bad.
They replied," Sir, what do you mean by latency"?
I asked them if they knew what ping is?
    They replied,"No".
I explained to them that latency is the total time taken for a data to reach the server and then come back.
They replied,"Sir, are you using Games on Demand service"?
    I replied,"No".
They replied,"Sir, your getting the correct download speed and there's no problem in your line. This problem is not in our department, you have to solve it on your own".

How will i Solve it on my own?
How come they don't even know the definition of Latency and ping?
Can anyone test their ping to this IP, 216.185.109.67 and post the result?
It's a server located in Singapore. I need to know if this is Airtel's problem or if the underwater cables broke down.

That server is located in Singapore. I get 260 ms and you get more than that, i guess the underground cables are broken.

    Min - 283 ms, Max - 472 ms, Avg - 351 ms when pinging 216.185.109.67

No packet loss though, this problem seems to have gone away. Hate the jitter too - not good for VoIP/Video Conferencing.

I work from home, so I'll sound like operating from a village.

And the description of the conversation with the Airtel Support bloke is pretty accurate - they are all potatoes.

    Angry Sad Airtel

I play CS online on Mumbai and Delhi servers. Ping is always 45-60ms (0 packet loss - 0 chokes) but from last 2 weeks it's not stable. Sometimes latency is less but there is packet loss and chokes or ping is high, even it won't connect to servers at times.

I believe it all started after a fire at Airtel Data Center in Mumbai. I called customer care but they don't understand the problem.
