    now give your IP

Your system laptop etc no problem.
I am checking how you get WIFI mode but not LAN mode .
Fault probably in modem settings only.

Check in ARP how many Ip's appear.
    Device Info -- ARP beetel110BXI

Test the connection to your local network MIne 110bxI
    Test your ENET(1-3) Connection: FAIL
    Test your ENET4 Connection: PASS
    Rest all pass

    Para two;
    Update Jan11th:0745AM
    RECAP:
    Beetel 450BXI
Problem Localised :wifi working ADSL Rj11 input VPN connects.

    UNIT FAULTY.??
Option 1 :LAN1 connected only to Desktop No response.
Try the other LAN's LAN2==> to desktop
    ............................. LAN3==> to desktop
    ..............................LAN4==> to desktop
    OR

Try another Beetel 450BXI /or similar router. unit. See .Option 5.
Similar problem recently discussed in this forum . solution pending .

    Option 2:
Uncheck PPPoE mode and try "bridged " mode/
Not suggested as Wifi mode and or VPN facility can be lost.

Option 3: RESET to factory settings and try.
Not recommended as above option 2.

    Option 4:
Need a stand alone wifi router such as Netgear WGR614V9
Connect LAN1 from Beetel 450BXi to WAN port of Netgear.
Reconnect Desktop to LAN1 of Netgear.

    Option 5:
If supplied by Airtel ask for replacement from Customer care.
A non refundable deposit of Rs 1000/= usually charged.

    Option 6:.
Try latest FW from Airtel official website.
At least a standby ADSL modem required before attempting this.
    Try option 5 first!!!

    Feedback option wise.

Right now i have my desktop as well as Laptop connected to the modem via cable. Laptop is also connected via wireless.

Arp entry is only present for entry for system which is connected via wireless. It is not learning any arp entries from the lan ports.

Should i do a Dhcpd Static IP Lease and see if it works.

I have logged a complaint with Airtel today and also requested for a replacement modem. let us see what they come up with. Let me search my old Airtel modem which does not support wireless.

I will keep you posted on the progress.

    Device Info -- ARP

IP address Flags HW Address Device
    192.168.1.3 Complete 00:247:B0:EC:B8 br0
    192.168.1.2 Complete 00:19:7E:65:74:57 br0

Both the above devices are connected via wireless. My office laptop and my personal laptop.

    Device Info -- DHCP Leases

Hostname MAC Address IP Address Expires In
    sridpadm-WS 00:247:B0:EC:B8 192.168.1.3 23 hours, 51 minutes, 5 seconds
    srisuku-PC 00:19:7E:65:74:57 192.168.1.2 23 hours, 52 minutes, 53 seconds

    Device Info -- DHCP Leases

Hostname MAC Address IP Address Expires In
    sridpadm-WS 00:247:B0:EC:B8 192.168.1.3 23 hours, 44 minutes, 22 seconds
    srisuku-PC 00:19:7E:65:74:57 192.168.1.2 23 hours, 46 minutes, 10 seconds
    BLACKBERRY-DADD 704:F21:5A:87 192.168.1.4 23 hours, 59 minutes, 6 seconds

Latest Update. Airtel has agreed that there is a fault with the modem. According to their new policy they will not replace the modem it seems. Their engineers bought a new modem where all are working fine. So i have go ahead and buy one on my own now.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Did you try :
Option 1 ? all lan ports faulty ?

    Option 4 :
with old ADSL modem. connect to LAN1 lan 2 to desktop.
( 450bx1 as wifi router) Select "MER"

    Option 6:
    Last chance: Reflash the firmware.
If this fails wifi mode available at present can be lost.

No I did not try option 2. I was worried whether i will loose connectivity as I am working from home today.

Airtel Engineer did a firmware upgrade. Basically he reflashed the firmware. Still there was no luck.

All the Lan Ports have been checked.

Ok Just for record please post the version number . .

Airtel is morally bound to replace the modem , as they could have charged you NON refundable deposit of Rs 1000/=
And in the event of a remote possibility of surrendering the connection, confirm they wont ask for return of the modem working/partly working/not working.
( as it is now working as wifi router say cost about Rs 1500/+!!!!)
    send an email to Airtel.

Spoke to Airtel Enginners. They are are saying policy have changed and Airtel will not replace the modem even if it purchased from after one year from the date of purchase. Mine connection is more than 5 years old though i purchased the wireless modem from them 2 years back.

Even if we want to purchase the modem from Airtel we have to pay 1500 and they say we have to wait for one month as there is no stock with them. I have a spare modem which my brother was using earlier which i plan to use.

    Hi Sridhar,
I have not gone through all of your posts but if u r in a situation that with Airtel broadband u r able to connect to wifi but not able to connect through LAN. Do a simple check. Check IPV4 settings. If it is fixed, you will not be able to connect through LAN. Change the settings to "Obtain an IP address automatically" u will be able to connect. (make a copy of the settings before changing).

I faced this issue too. I don't understand why we need to give fixed IP to connect to Airtel BB. My roommates are able to connect to BB without making any changes to IP. Crappy Airtel !
