Thread: 450TC1 wifi on samsung galaxy y

hello everyone,

recently iv purchased a samsung galaxy y and would like to use my router's wifi to download stuff onto my mobile but the thing is whenever i switch wifi on my mobile, it detects airtel wifi as airtel wep, it prompts me to enter the pass which i do but after that just keeps showing obtaining ip address n doesnt connect. what am i doing wrong?

kk but regarding the edited note, is it legal?

and by the way, can u pls post steps for that pppoe thing and dhcp is enabled. just checked on router settings page.

THANKS I GOT IT CONNECTED but i would still like an answer to that open wifi connection question

All wifi networks are expected to use security code ( and change it often ) to avoid misuse of the network , by anti social elements , exceed usage quota if any by unauthorised users.
Even if an unsecured wifi is used, only select users can access the net ,,if Mac address white list is prepared/enabled at router settings.

Anybody availing the facility, because it is FREE for him/her, without permission/knowledge of the wifi network owner , is simply misusing
/stealing the facility. Legal/illegal does not arise.
