Thread: Settings for DSL modem for Airtel Bangalore

I have airtel broadband. Yesterday, the modem (Beetel) stopped working. Could be the power supply or something else.

I have an old ADSL modem from Australia. I want to use it to replace my modem.

I need the following settings for my WAN (not LAN!)

1. VCI/VPI
2. Gateway for WAN
3. DNS etc for WAN
4. Username/password
5. any other setting needed (e.g. connection mode etc)

I have been searching all night and could not find anything useful.

* please do not give me BSNL or some other ISP settings
* please do not ask me to power up my airtel modem and copy the settings from there. The modem does not power up so I cannot get the settings from there

* please do not give me settings for configuring my LAN as I already know it. I also know how to log in to the ADSL router using the ip address 192.168.1.1. So kindly skip that too.

2. Gateway for WAN : not needed.
3. DNS etc for WAN: google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

4. Username/password: Get it from your Isp Airtel usually xxyour phone number @ airtelbroadband.in PW default password
5. any other setting needed (e.g. connection mode etc) Try PPPoE in WAN page.

Thanks for the info. I will post the model number when I get home today. I will try these settings too.

Ok similar to old Ut300R2U( or dlink GLB802C) .
confirm settings worked. connecting to Internet.

It worked after a lot of trying. The settings for Airtel (Bangalore) that worked for me are attached.
