    Default Wifi not working Airtel

I am having this problem where I have replaced 3 routers and still the problem remains.

I can use the internet via lan but my Wifi does not show up. The light in the router does not blink however when I first start the router it blinks and also is recognized by my comp. However with in seconds the wifi light in the router becomes stable and the signal does not show up in any system.

I feel there could be someone using jammer as the same problem is with my neighbor.

Is there anyone with the similar problem and have been able to get solution?

    I have replaced 3 routers
Confirm WIFI worked earlier or not. Problem : is it recent /sudden ?
Any assistance taken from Airtel CC ?

    Mention your modem/router model/make /number.
Probably Binatone DTW865W or Beetel 450TCI.
Find/give the details of the Firmware version shown on top.
of router menu page STATUS/Device Info.
ANY SSID appears in WLan page of laptop ?

WIFI was working earlier but this problem is now for the last 2-3 months. The problem is also intermitent, sometime the WIFI is there sometimes the WIFI is completely gone.

I tried calling Airtel CC but said they could not help as the internet is working but its only the Wifi not working so they asked me to get in touch with the local vendor.

    I am using a Dlink DSL 2750U

Attached is the snap shot of my devices Info.

Check this link below for similar menu pages.
    utstar-wa3002-g4-quick-reference-
    Your unit has additional facilities.

    1.
    Change Channel to No 11.
In Wireless Advanced check button Power is 100%
    2.
Also wireless LAN card (Advanced settings ) power selected
    correctly.
    3.
Position the router at a higher plane ( height)
    4.
The three routers also may be listed below.
    Or give details here.
    5.
Check SNR/ATTN data in Beetel450BXI Summary Statistics/ADSL menu.
    Higher SNR /lower AttN better.

    Feedback.

I have got my Airtel connection in Bangalore yesterday. As there is some offer going on, I have received wi-fi modem for free. The model is Binatone DT 850W. After the technical person set up the connection, my laptop was unable to show my wi-fi. The person said that it could be issue with laptop wireless but that was not true because laptop was showing neighbour wi-fis.
Every time I refresh the Wireless set up (by logging to http//192.168.1.1), the wi-fi gets detected and I could connect to it.

I have been using Netgear wifi for last 4 years and it was never un-detected by same laptop. So, it's purely wi-fi modem issue. I am planning to throw airtel's wi-fi and use my model and router. Only pain is that I have to keep 2 boxes separately.

So, throw away Airtel's freebies and use some other good router such as Netgear/Cisco/D-Link etc.

I have been facing exactly the same issue with airtel supplied Binatone DT850W router. The wifi signal vanishes for a couple of hours and then comes back automatically. Did you get any help from airtel or were you able to rectify the issue yourself ?

the following worked for me -
    1. changed wifi type from "wifi-b+g+n" to "wifi n" only
    2. changed wifi channel from "auto" to "11"

now I dont face frequent disconnections of wifi
