Default share my internet connection between two computers

i use airtel braodband on my current computer.
in next few days i am buying a new computer ,keeping the old one also.
how can i share the same internet connection on the new computer .
do i need to buy another lan card for the old computer so that it has two one for airtel and other for lanto the new one.
after doing so can i use the internet n the new one by connecting it to the old one through a normal lan.

Thumbs up Re : share my internet connection between two computers

Ya is it possible to share a single net connection , even airtel is encouraging this ,All you need is a switch or hub (i thinks its around 700Rs, its better to use switch than hub) and 2 data cables .
just connect the output of your modem to switch ,now connect your PC's and switch with those 2 data cable .configure IP address ,DNS(opendns for better speed)...
If you have any problme contact customer care they will help you ...
But your bandwidth will be shared if both the system are using net at same time .

Just connect both your computers to router if your modem has just one lan port then connect one computer through USB and other through Lan. This is working in my case.

Hey this is good piece of information to know. But the worrying factor is that my speed will be shared between the two. Already i have a very low speed. Than in this case it will become worse or so. And instead of a switch, a lan will be useful in inexpensive too.

your net speed will be shared only when ,both the user and accessing net (i.e only when you download )

you can just connect using a switch to your 2 systems and make dhcp enabled in your modem... its better to put your modem as pppoe... then you can directly connect two systems thro switch and it will be working..
