Default Secured Website Problem with Beetel 450bxi

    Hi,
My ISP is airtel (New Delhi).

I am using beetel 450bxi modem.

I have more than one connections (different locations) from airtel, so more than one modem as well.

By doing a lot of troubleshooting personally, using help of the internet and the ISP I have concluded that the modem has a fault.

I am not able to access any secured websites along with some more non secure websites using the modem specified above.

I have tried moving location with this modem - no gain
I have tried using different computers / laptop / switching from wifi to enet - no gain

I have tried using different firmware - no gain, it actually made it difficult to connect to connect at all after firmware change so I had to get another firmware by calling the ISP.

    current firmawre now is:
    Board ID: 96338W
    Software Version: 3.12L.01.A2pB023k.d20k_rc2
    Bootloader (CFE) Version: 1.0.37-8.7
    Wireless Driver Version: 3.131.35.6.cpe1.0a.s

I hope to see some response from this forum.

The forum does not allow me to paste links of websites I am unable to view.

So here is the long description:

able to access google but not gmail
able to access yahoo but not yahoo mail
able to access bank websites (home page and other links) but not the log in page with https:

able to get yahoo mail configured via outlook.

Changing the modem solves the problemt.

I am trying to fix this modem beetel 450bxi

One more thing I can get my yahoo mail through outlook.

    Waiting for some help.

    Thanks

I fail to understand the relationship in between your modem and secured websites not loading.

Perhaps it has got something to do with your current web browser settings.

Likewise, which AV security software are you using at present? Please check the PC for infestations using ComboFix.

    Dear Cool Techie,

I have tried opening secure websites on different computers using beetel 450 bxi but they do not open.
    Even on smartphones.

As soon as I change the modem, the problem is fixed.

Although unable to understand why but the symptoms clearly depict the problem is with the modem.

So I need help in fixing it.

    Thanks

Install Spotflux from Spotflux - A more secure, private, and open internet experience.

Enable it and try to access those secure websites. Hopefully, it should work. If it does work, then your modem is not the culprit.

This software is also good when Airtel decides to block torrent websites.

The problem is fixed on the laptop I installed spotflux.

This has actually become a work around rather than a permanent solution.

I have more laptop where I can not access secured websites using beetel 450bxi.

I also get visitors / clients requiring ineternet access for the duration of the meeting - so I can not install spotflux on all the systems.

I tried to access the websites from my smartphone and that did not work.

What I think has happened now is that spotflux managed to fool the external anti force (modem / A/V or whatever) in thinking that it is not visiting a secured website and the traffic was allowed to go through.

My yahoo mail immediately gave me a notification that an unknown device tried to log in to your mail account (I was using my own laptop) after I installed spotflux. LOL...

U think there can be another solution to fix the problem throughout?

Do you need more technical data?

    Thanks

Yes. This is a temporary workaround. Even now, I am unable to post any replies over here. I get a "the webpage was reset" error message when I try to post replies over here. Hence, I have to activate spotflux before I can post this reply. The issue started some days back. And I face the problem only with this portal.

The message from Yahoo was because you are signing in from a different network rather than Airtel Broadband.

From what I have learnt through online search, such errors occur due to faulty browser settings / old or outdated plugins. It has got nothing to do with the modem / network settings. Everything is clear from my end. Yet, I cannot access certain websites and have to rely on Spotflux occasionally.

ok, actually this solutions works for when some sites are not opening like yahoo.com, msn.com (only successful solutuion was using of tor browser) when i was using binatone Dt-845w but it may also work for you (i don't know whether it will work for secured sites or not) just login to your router /modem using 192.168.1.1 go to internet setup page under QoS set ATM QoS to UBR set PCR to 5500 cells/second (ISP is BSNL in my case check for airtel in forum maybe you have to set pcr to 0 cells/second) & voila all sites open instantly. (i think beetel 450bxi will have some setting like that or search this forum you could find exact setup setting for internet). if your modem is not faulty this could be your saviour. try it.

You are a star. I had the same problem with Airtel connection and Beetel 450 BXI modem. This worked for me. Have been figiting "super intelligent" Airtel tech support who were sure the problem is with my laptop. I had been telling them that changing internet connection to Tata Photon solves my problem and it is affecting all my Laptops/Tablet PCs. My last request for home visit was closed without a visit and without solving my problem. Hats off to you.

The problem came back after few hours and reverting back settings and rebooting router did solve it for not sure how long. At least I have a work around now.

Sure, It's should be taken as an work around, not an permanent solution (but in critical time one should have a weapon )
