Default Airtel speed increases on restarting router?

Hi guys,
I'm new here, so forgive me if somebody's already posted this.

Has anybody else noticed that you can get different download speeds from Airtel if you restart your router? The difference can be dramatic. This morning I was only able to download a peer-to-peer file at 25 kbps on my 512kbps connection, then I switched on and off my router and suddenly I was able to get 250 kbps! Later this afternoon, it slowed down again to about 65 kbps, so I tried switching on and off again. The first time I did so, I got only 25 kbps again. I switched off and on again (of course) and now I'm back to 256 kbps.

Anybody have an explanation?

Well i would not like to sit near my computer and then keep restarting my router again and again for high speed. I would prefer to leave it as it is and do other work while it is downloading at its normal speed which is acceptable to me.

This is new way of getting higher speed but if you calculate you would see that by doing this you would get less speed as compared to what you get normally as when you switch off and on router you loose time which can give you speed if you run it normally.

Depends upon whether download has been started or not. The difference between 64~100 kbps and 256~512 kbps can be quite dramatic.

This is not a trick. I have tried this a lot time ago and i would just tell you that it is of no use. The initial speed you get when you turn off the modem is just burst and after some time would get the normal speed.

This is no trick or perhaps i would say that it is much more like idiot idea. The initial speed you get does not download even a single bit. It is just a burst.
