Thumbs down (URGENT) Rerouting Issues to Singapore Gaming Servers

Hi, Me and my friends are using airtel broadband and 3G services from chennai and in bangalore, just before from a month, we all started having a ping of 400ms to 500ms instead of the usual 80ms ping to singapore (League of Legends Server), first we tried to contact Garena Support to verify if they have any problem at their end, and they asked us to trace route each on of us, and we posted that to the admin, after veryfying only airtel users in inda have this issue recently, cuz it patch routes to UK, then USA and then to Singapre, and they asked us to contact our ISP to Fix routing to this servers, We all Tried Contacting Airel ISP care, and explained them the situation for a month, all they ask is sir is it ur speed fine, is it ur connectivity issues ??, we clearly mentioned them u shud inform ur server department about rerouting, its not speed, its about ping, they sed yeah we will look into it, but so far 0 fix, we are tired of this airtel care, anyone suggest us how to contact higher officers straight away about this issue, or help us solving this, for their kind info this is the traceroute for most of airtel users to sg servers

Thats not a very good route for Singapore. Can you paste the tracert and latency to this IP : 119.81.28.170

If you want a troublefree connection and low latency to Sigapore then get a server from Softlayer. They are the best of the best and they are very well connected to all the ISPs in India without the need of the likes of mantra who are being a bottleneck for you in the above tracert you have posted.

From Chennai and Bangalore you should get a latency of less then 100ms to the IP I posted above.

some of the users of tata docomo.. said something about BGP, border gateway protocol, which identifies the shortest route to that server, in which airtel failed to assign shortest route, they need to do it manually, im not good @ networking stuffs much,

It is your hosting company. Either one of their bandwidth provider is down that used to give you the best route to your server or your ISP decided to use a cheaper route to Singapore to that particular data center.

If you want good connectivity then Softlayer is your best bet. I have used them for years now and in my experience they are the best connected hosting company in South Asia. Even their other data centers are very well connected.

im a home user, i dont know how i can afford to rent a server, which can solve my gaming issues and to those who are gaming to singapore server, the simple thing we know is, if we inform airtel higher officials about this, they may let us know whether they can help us reroute, ive been searching online for any airtel server official email ids or anything, nothing so far, contacted nodal office, no reply, thats why i gave up, and posted here, so someone with more tech knowledge can help us.. you can help us if u can.. thank you

Honestly speaking Airtel wont do anything for you from what I know. They probabbly cut cost of international bandwidth by switching provider or something. We as consumers dont have much say in how they route their traffic unless you have lots of people saying the same thing. It may return to normal in a few days but its hard to say anything for sure.

do you face the same issue if you use different dns server?
    try using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.2.2

(assign them on your airtel broadband modem (and not on ur LAN), save, then restart modem as well as computer in that order)

just a suggestion, see if it helps. my logic is, using these dns servers (they are free dns by google) my page load times reduces drastically. maybe it will help reduce the ping times as well. if it doesn't well, no harm done, and you may go back to your old config.

Ping or latency to a remote server using an IP address would not improve or get worse if you change DNS. It is true for websites like when you type in www.indiabroadband.net then your computer would first query from the DNS for the where abouts of the website and would be able to find out the IP address associated with the website and this communication if it is quicker will improve your page load times if the DNS is fast and is closer to you.

Hey, btw 8.8.2.2 is that even google dns, i thought secondary shud be 8.8.4.4, if im right, but seems like using ur 8.8.2.2 is kinda weird, cuz i get 30ms less from 300ms ping, and speedtest result always goes to 7.4mbps even though my dongle is 3g 7.2mbps, the speed to sites have improved, but in game, its just 30ms less

    8.8.8.8
    8.8.4.4
