    Default Ping spikes in airtel

    I recently purchased a airtel connection 2mbps till 30gb , 512kbps after that.
My issue is only the unstable ping , so gaming is a pain.

I am using the Beetel modem 450TC3 which they provided me with

    my snr values :
SNR Margin Down Stream - 29.3
SNR Margin Up Stream - 25.0
    Up Output Power - 8
    Down Output Power - 11.5

I pinged my router : (no fault here)
Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:
    Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=30
    Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=30

There are no virus in my pc and i tried running the ping the tests above in safe mode with networking
I already complained by they said you need static ip for stable pings

Does anyone have any advice ?

Edit : did a adsl test in the router http://i.imgur.com/1udgf2m.png

There is nothing you can do on your end. Just keep calling customer service and tell them to check the line quality when you experience high latency then normal and hopefully one day the GODS will have mercy on your soul and let you plan online games in peace.

I have a local cable operators connection which has been working great for me for almost a year now with only problem being that the guy turns off everything when it rains Other than that it works great for me so it may be worth your while to look for one in your area. Some of them do manage their network pretty well.

I've experienced the same problem you were facing and as an end user you can't do anything to get rid of this. I was using my internet for gaming and hence to reduce my ping I used a third party software & it reduced my ping drastically. If you could download a software to reduce ping, it'd be great.
