getting speed from airtel is that you should download between 10.00am to 2.00pm.

Well i am downloading 24/7 and i would say that there is no difference of speed for me. I am presently having 265 kbps plan and i am getting the same speed of 30-34 kbps download speed.

I am not sure that it will work on the 256 kbps Unlimited plan. It may work on other (limited) plans but then you are going to be slapped with a huge bill in the end. Probably that is the intention.

As of the high speed i have never ever seen any change in my connection speed at the night time. It is always the same slow 32 kbps connection.

The best speed funda which really works is that you should get a higher speed connection as this is the only way you would be able to get true stable high speed .

There is no such funda. If you see you would notice that there is no speed difference not only from Airtel but any other ISP. You would get the speed according to the plan you have choosen.

I got 200 kbps nearby speed yesterday. I dont know how come this happened but i got this speed for 2 hours and i was able to download a lot of data in this time. I have a 256 kbps connection ... do you think this is a problem with Airtel servers or this happens regularly.

Amazing.... I am on airtel 256 ul plan. I switched off the modem once ... and switch it on again... the d/l speed increased to 180kbps....it went on for about and hour and a half. I thought I would try and I switched of and on the modem twice quickly. Can U imagine for the past 4 hours I am on d/l speed of 360kbps.....
I never tried it thrice becoz I do not want to stop the 360 kbps. I will try it tonite.
Try at ur own risk. What I mean by this is... it may be harmful towards the modem in areas with fluctuations in the current or even spikes.

hi, im using Airtel BB since 1 year and always get F*** speeds, when i cald them saying they are blocking "torrents", they didnt know what it means.. LOL.. the truth is that USA is USA and INDIA is INDIA. wont get those lightening speeds anywhere in india. Infact i work in a MNC called Wipro, and there too we get speeds of 40kbps only (Not torrents) Torrents are blocked there! What a shame for a country who have ppl like narayana murhty, sabeer bhatia and Ankit Fadia.. who are gurus.. All goes to show not only airtel, ay other ISP isnt interested in providing u high speeds in an unlimited plan, coz that will ruin their business.. Thanx

So you decided to ask the guy after 15 months which was his modem?
