Try PPPoE with the following

Operation Mode = Enabled
VPI = 0
VCI = 35
Default Route = Enabled
IGMP = Disabled
Encapsulation mode = LLC
MTU = 1492 or 1500
NAT = Enabled
Use DNS = Enabled

But can we able to configure bsnl modem to use airtel? As far as i know and have confirmed with airtel people and they said that it is not possible to add the bsnl modem with airtel's? If it is indeed possible, that's great and will this really worked?

But BSNL does not manufacture modems; nor does Airtel. Modem is something very generic and confirms to international standards on communications. Unless there is something in the firmware that prevents one modem working on one ISP but not on the other, I am not sure why they should not work.

If the modem is not going to work and that is guaranteed by Airtel (or BSNL) then the whole discussion is academic and the only option is buy the modem from Airtel.

Default hewai modem does not work with airtel.

i have tried every option, & the modem does not get the link..up....due to some restriction....
maybe bsnl only works on their own....network....
if anyone has succesfuly used bsnl Hewuai modem on airtel....pls share...

Have you tried to configure it as a bridge? Use the same VPI/VCI values. Create a dialer in your PC/laptop and check the error. Please report if you get Error 678.
