Question 2mbps with 6GB download limit ?

Hi Folks,

I am planning to take an airtel connection.I need to use it mainly for work purpose at home.I need to work around 3 hrs daily using VPN connection.
I do not do big downloads but need to connect remotely to my office network and work.

I have 2 options
1) 384 kbps unlimited for Rs 999 per month
2) 2mbps limited with 2mbps bandwidth and 6GB download limit

To get connected remotely does 384 kbps serve purpose ?
On an average with 3 hrs of normal usage(without downloads) daily would 6GB be sufficient?

could you please suggest which would be the ideal one for my case.
please suggest anyother package which you guys might think is much better.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,
Chikitha

i think u shud go for the 1MB unlimited plan. 1 Mbps speed shud be good enough for ur connectivity and u don't hv to worry abt the download limit.

speaking abt download, u never know how much u download/upload when u connect to office network. it all depends on type of connectivity. so its better to go for unlimited plan.

If you are only working via VPN, the 2 Mbps plan with 6 GB download limit is what you should be looking at. In case of VPN, speed does matter and a 2 Mbps connection would be very comfortable. 512 kbps should work too but you really dont need an unlimited connection. It is for folks who download movies etc.

We are very unfortunate in India, as we don't have the privilege of getting fast speed with unlimited connection as of yet! in my opinion, the broadband price should not be based on download limit at all. It should always be based on speed! the more u pay the more speed u get!

Problem with 6GB limit is, u never know when it is going beyond 6 GB. Thats why I suggested 1 Mbps plan, which is so far the max u can go in unlimited. Airtel is giving it for 2222 i guess. I am still stuck with 512kbps, because of landline STD rates of 1Mbps plan. I own a Nintendo Wii and hoocked it up with my WiFi router. All works fine but the YouTube is not! Its good to watch YouTube videos on my TV screen using Wii, but the slow speed reminds you that u r watching it on the net and not TV! Flash games works fine on Wii.

Overall, my pc browsing works fine with 512kbps, but as compared with 6Mbps connection I had in Singapore, I had hard time adjusting to it!

I Have another option for u Home 888 Unlimited ( 256 in the day / 512 in the night ) unless u download close to 100 GB / month like me , i would recommend u stay away from any limited package .
