    Default Need for Speed

Hi Guys, did we know that we dont figure in top 20 countries for broadband speeds in the world where as we stand high in so many places. Japan has 90megs speed for home users, Sweeden, Korea, France, Singapore etc have super high speed connections. Why not in india??? Leave aside 50megs unltd we dont even have 2 megs unltd for home use.. Time has come to promote broadband to higher limits now.. How many of you agree...

I agree that we lag behind the rest but what we get as of today is quite good also. I remember surfing 10 years ago at speeds of 1 kbps (notice the small "b"). And now I do get 2 Mbps as promised by Airtel. Cmon folks, no need to crib, and I am sure with time it can only get better.

Hi Guys. I'm not Indian. I'm studying in Pune. Let me tell u my feeling when the 1st time 1 used India Broadband. Before i came here,i knew that India is one of the most developement country about IT. I thought that i ll have good internet connection. But it was amazing. Not any company had 2Mbps for home user. Then i check the price, omg 1 more time suprised. 256kbps unlimited = Rs.999. Soooo expensive. In my country (in South East Asia), with the same price, i used 10mbps unlimited download. What happend here????? Is this the most IT development country???? U know what, i was really disappointed. Hope that in the near future things ll change

I was working in Singapore and came back recently, I used to get 6 Mbps (still the small "b", its there all over the world) plan for S$58, i.e. Rs 1682 pm. And now they have 100Mbps connection for home users! Here I am paying Rs 1995 pm for a 512 Kbps speed to Airtel. Think about the transition from apprx 750KB to 62KB spped difference! Airtel is good and I do get 59-62 KB speed, but can only miss the speed I used to get in Singapore.
Hope our broadband will mature faster and we will soon get better speed.
