With this datacard, you will get speeds up to 144 kbps (18 KB/s). This type of connection is good for emails and normal browsing only and not intended for heavy downloads.

I just spoke to Airtel Customer service he said the browsing speed is 10kb
Before investing 2999 in USB modem can anyone please post actual speed you get i know it depends where you stay but average speed ?

Also DATA CARD OR USB model which is better ...can i use Data card in my laptop ? I have a Studio XPS 1640.

Would really appreciate if someone replies...

I havent come across any datacard users so i wont comment on the speeds.

But in a choice between datacard and USB Modem, I would go for USB!

And again, about your laptop, different ISP's have different compatibilities. For eg. Tata Indicom Photon+ is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Mac OS X, which many ISPs dont support!
