Default Help required regarding Dlink DSL-2640T router

Two days back I installed and configured my router i.e DSL-2640T [Wireless G ADSL2+Router] and it worked fine, the internet connection too was working very fine too. But, today when I started my router, the connection status with wifi was absolutely fine, but I'm not able to connect to my internet and few minutes later it started working normally.
I called up service provider (Airtel) regarding this problem, they sent an engineer to solve the issue, he saw all the connections and settings and said everything is okay and even checked the network with his own modem, and it worked fine. Then he restarted the router and the laptop, the same problem occurred i.e. the connection was established but internet could not be accessed, then 10-15 minutes later it started working. We restarted the router just to check and again the same problem occurred, i.e. internet was not accessible, since then I have been trying, but in vain.
Can you please guide me how do I rectify this problem, this always happen when I power on my router.
    Urgent guidance needed.

Are you dialing from your computer or your modem does it for you?

the connection was established but internet could not be accessed, then 10-15 minutes later it started working
You said connection is established but still not able to browse immediately,.. here you mean whether your modem has successfully established conenction with Service Provider or you mean that your computer shows 100Mbps line connection ?

Why i am asking is if your modem has successfully established link, then your computer should be able to browse if not firewall or any software is blocking your traffic. But you said you are able to browse after 10-15 mins, so i dont think any softwares are blocking your traffic so we need to ensure the time difference between your modem receives connection with service provider and the time that you are able to browse internet

    Sir,
The dialing thing is done by modem itself.

What I mean to say is, when I turn on my Wifi it detects the wireless network i.e. DL_wire (name given to network), but sometimes I am not able to connect to the internet.
In the Network and Sharing Centre it shows like:
    my_pc ------ DL_wire----X----Internet

But on some occasions it is
    my_pc ------ DL_wire--------Internet
    i.e. everything is working fine

This discrepency happens when I start (or restart) the router and is random.
The light status is fine always.

    Reply awaited.

From your representation, i think you are using vista....

Did you check with any other OS(windows XP)?

As u said service provider already checked everything, i guess vista is creating problem if not modem/line/service provider issue.

A: Try to unchecking “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" and "QoS Packet Scheduler".

To do that, Right click on Wireless Network Connection, and then click “Configure”.
If asked for permission to open Network Connections, click on Allow.
Highlight the following items and press the “Uninstall” button:
Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper I/O Driver
    Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder

and then uncheck “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)” and "QoS Packet Scheduler".

[ I hope you are aware of patch process ]Also, try to install MS Update of fixing the security, usability, and manageability improvements for Windows Vista wireless clients - Download details: Wireless Networking in Windows Vista

Any vista users here in this forum to give your valid inputs?

I am having the same problem as Student23 as quoted above but mine is in Windows XP but I am not sure about the time duration that is needed to enter Internet. I'm from Malaysia and I am using my service provider(Streamyx).

Another additional problem to that is mine occurred at night. My router is configured from my computer(running Windows Vista) and the strange thing is that when I switch on my computer that my the other computer(that is running on Window XP) can be connected to the internet. Is it a coincidence?

Can anybody please help me with this problem also pleeeease?
