For those who are using Airtel broadband and paying for 512 kbps unlimited, they are paying 1900 buks, though Airtel has a new plan for 512 kbps which costs only 1495 bucks. This new plan has been cleverly evaded from existing cuatomers who continue to pay the higher price.
Now, 1 MBps unlimited is available for 2200 bucks.

whats the average download and upload speed in 512 Kbps new plan??
in 256 Kbps, the normal download speed were only 20-23 Kbps!! Its horrible
and the upload speed is 18 Kbps only

There is nothing called Upload speed and Download Speed.
How can network distinguish between download, upload and browsing?
The bandwidth rating is just to trick customers.
256 kbps is 256 kilobits/second which is 32 kilobytes/second
512 kbps is 512 kilobits/second which is 64 Kilobytes/second
That is the reason you download at an average rate of 23 kBps.
But, Airtel is the best when it comes to consistency. If they promise 256 kbps, it will never fall below 200 kbps...

I do not agree with you,There is a difference b/w upload and download speed
You use ADSL technology which means Asymmetric Digital Subscribe Line
This technology is for end users like office and home were you do more download than upload so the download bandwidth is more like 512 kbps or 256 kbps where as the upload speed will be generally half like 128 kbps or 64 kbps

in this case Naruto is getting 18 kbps upload

ISP do bill you with both upload+download as the usage but there is a difference

Airtel has also lowered the price of the 256 kbps unlimited plan for new customers.
But Airtel has not cleverly informed their existing customers about the lowered rates. So existing customers pay more.

ofcourse every1 is allowed to opt for the new plans (including the existing customers).

for example the home 999 plan (in delhi) offered 256kbps unlimited. now you get 256kbps unlimited for Rs 799. and for the same Rs 999, you can get 384Kbps.

I am really happy today..... one call and my internet speed increases by 128kbps and i dont have to pay extra

Airtel Broadband has slashed the rates to just Rs250/Month on its 256KBPs DSL in Bangalore and Karnataka. You are limited to 400MB of download limit. Additional download beyond the limit will cost Rs1.40/MB. This package is well suited for light users and hopefully in the next quarter the same amount can buy more bandwidth and speed

And regarding speed you get on 256kbps i get around 36 Kilo bytes/sec which is consistent. Airtel maximum supports upload speeds of 512kbps in most areas. You can check your max supported speeds from router information page
