Thread: airtel unlimited 256 kbps through wireless router?

hi my brother lives in ahmedabad and he was planning to get a new laptop for himself and an unlimited internet connection. he lives in hostel and need to change roms frequently, now that rules out the possibility of a fixed line broadband connection. i came to know of this wireless router, but i dont know that is tis the solution for our problem? is wireless adsl router wireless at the router-ISP interface or just the router-laptop interface? if the latter then its no better than fixed line for us 'cause changing rooms that are far far apart will need to shift the router too. if its former then is airtel service good enough to get wireless connection from them in ahmedabad?
please help i am in a serious confusion and running outta time...

also out of the league question- whats the cheapest laptop we can get. its required only for internet connection, word processing and watching movies and listening to music, should have a dvd writer or at least combo drive.

The wifi connection would be between your wifi router and laptop. There will be a wired connection between wifi router and the service provider end. so for your case, you can go for Airtel datacards or so. They are available as mini usb devices which you can plug and keep surfing. no need to bother about roaming.
