Default Unable to portforward on a Airtel beetel ADSL2 + modem connected to a Netgear WGR614v

    Hi,

I am having a airtel 256 kbps connection using a beetel 220 Xi modem -> connected to Netgear WGR614v7 wireless router.

I am unable to do port forwarding for utorrent app.

    beetel ip 192.168.0.1
    net gear 192.168.1.1
Static ip set on computer : 192.168.1.10

i am trying to forward port no: 42682

    Can some one help me???

Also what is the optimum speed in KBps we get for utorrent.
I get aroung 20-33 KBps. Any comments?? Thanks in advance everyone..

Default Use NAT software of beetel modem...

Here is a useful link that I googled...

Open ports for your Airtel connection (Port-mapping) Synapse ?

Hope this helps coz you have a wireless modem too. Else try googling "bridge mode 220bx1". There is a page for your solution I had seen some time ago...

Smile uTorrent maxes the speed usually

As for utorrent speed, its usually the max for your modem... unless no ones sharing the torrent with you

Check this post to clear speed terminology doubts:

    Lightbulb Finally Got The Ans

Heres the link to solve your problem:

Omniscience: Setting up Wireless Router with Airtel modem Beetel 200BX

    The final para says that

"Also in case, you have done port forwarding or created any virtual hosts or any such stuff on your modem, you will need to do them in the wireless router now."
    Hope this helps...

Imp: Port forwarding should be done only at the router end ...

Guys thanks your your inputs... i really appreciate it...

But i have done the portforwarding when i was using the Beetel modem alone..

The netgear was brought recently.. I had problem since then..

As for the earlier reply that only the router needs to be forwarded.. i have a doubt about that... PortForward.com - Double Router Port Forwarding.

Please look in link above.. it shows port forwarding using routers...(in my case the beetel and Netgear)

The posts you have provided has been attempted earlier and did not help

Since you have added one more router in the network and had already done port-forwarding on Beetel modem, please do the following:

    a) Setup Beetel modem in PPPoE mode. The IP address of Beetel modem must be 192.168.1.1
    b) Setup the Netgear modem in bridge mode. The IP address of Netgear router must be 192.168.2.1.
    c) Note down the port number to be forwarded. Assume that this port number is 45000.
    d) In Beetel modem, port forward as follows:

    IP Address: 192.168.2.1
    Port Number: 45000

    This will work.

    Refer to the attached guide.

    This has been done..

I have configured beetel ip: 192.168.0.1
    and netgear ip: 192.168.1.1

Now in BEETEL, i have forwarded port 42682 to 192.168.1.1(netgear), giving service name "utorrent" also "Utor1"(i dont know which is the correct service name).

In NETGEAR, i have forwarded 42682 to my computer static ip: 192.168.1.10
Using service name "Utor1"(this is as per the docs available at portforwarding.com)

Doing this also doesnot resolve the issue.

I am glad to help out. Most of the problems occur because the basic fundamentals are forgotten. Once those are understood, the rest is easy. I too struggled with router setup, port forwarding, etc. and my guides are "My experiments with Technology".

Default where do i get bridged mode

    hey just4kix
i just wanted to know how to setup my router and modem as PPoE and bridged mode.

And i have the beetel 220+ and netgear wgr614.

what i did was in my modem i put the port fwd 51384 to my router ip 192.168.1.1
and in my router i put the port fwd 51384 to my laptop ip 192.168.1.2

the funny thing before was that when ever i switched on the utorrent client, my net would just go down.
i mean in the modem the green light just goes out, and doen not come back up until i close the utorrent.

this is the weirdest thing i have noticed in my torrent career.
i dont even know hot this is even possible. also i tried bitcommet and the same. thing.

lets see i have tried out some modification in the settings, and hopefully those might work..
    will keep you updated.

    cheers

    cheers
