Thread: DLink DSL-502T not working with airtel broadband connection

I am Yogesh from chennai.
I bought DLink DSL-502T modem 1.5 years back and it worked fine with BSNL's Dataone broadband connection.
Last week, I changed to Airtel Broadband from Dataone due to inconsistent ADSL link by BSNL.
And, I am unable to configure the DSL-502T modem with Airtel. The ADSL link in DSL-502T is not at all blinking.

The airtel support person placed a temporary modem (Beetel 220X) and he configured the username and password, VPI/VCI, and the DNS information and the Beetel 220X works fine to connect.

But, the DSL-502T modem is not displaying the ADSL Link, for the same username/password, VPI/VCI and DNS details.

I took my DSL-502T to my friend's home and tested it with BSNL broadband and it worked fine. Is there any setting specific to Airtel Broadband, to get the ADSL link?

I used the following data to configure PvC0 in DSL-502T, and disabled all other PvC records.

Airtel Broadband:

VPI / VCI = 1 / 32
DNS: 203.145.184.32 and 203.145.184.13
Username: myusername@airtelbroadband.in
password: password
connection type: PPPoE

I am having Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2.

How to configure the DSL-502T so that I can see the ADSL link displaying in the DSL-502T ?

Friends, please help me to configure the DSL-502T with Airtel broadband.

Hi

Open the DSL-502T web page by typing http://192.168.1.1/ in your browser address bar.
Enter username and password as admin / admin.
Now, select "Advanced" from the top menu.
Then select the "ADSL" from the left side menu.
By default, the modulation type is set as "Multi-mode".
Choose "G.dmt" from the other available options.
Now save your settings and reboot your Dlink DSL-502T (Tools --> System --> Save and reboot) .
Now, the ADSL link is glowing continuously and everything works fine now.
It's always safe to take a back-up of your config file, when everything works fine for you.

I faced with similar problem of yogesh with d-link modem as I came to know that airtel configured beetel primarily it is their business policy

Airtel provides a rent free modem on a non refundable deposit of Rs 500 for Beetel 220BX.

Change the DNS to open dns 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222 and try

With DSL502T connected post the connection status page.
All ADSL modems will work for all ISP's in India.
No locking is done.

i am also using DLink DSL-502T with airtel broadband connection for three years. my connection disconnects after nearly 30 min, then it automatically connected after a few seconds,then working fine. how to solve this??

1. Log in to your modem and post the SNR and attenuation values.

2. Check your splitter for fault.

3. Make sure that all connections come after splitter



4. Bypass the splitter and directly connect to the modem and check.

Check all contacts for blackening/oxidization/ change cables

I am using the new splitter from airtel. All connections from the splitter are fine. They gave me a beetel modem for 1 week, it works without any disconnection.

informing intermittent connection/s and line attenuation high. say modem suspect ( don't mention make )
Give Phone number with STD code.
They will send their tech staff, who will test the connection with own modem. Check SNR and attn
If data is good, and if you had made a NON refundable Deposit of Rs 500/=
you are supposed to get a RENT free modem.
