Although Airtel broadband service is just fine speedwise as compared to the old local cable connection i was using which was too slow ,but there are certain problems i am encountering which you must keep in mind if you think of taking this service.

1.Net Usage(units you have used) on their website is shown incorrectly and faulty,overusage is shown.You’ve to call up their customer care to explain you didnot use that much,then they correct it,even then usage is not updated everyday,You’ve to keep an eye everyday what they show otherwise you may turn up receiving huge bills.

2.When you switch on the modem ,it takes about 1-2 minutes for a stable connection,then it is usable on your computer,but they bill it probably as soon as you switch on the modem.Please switch off the modem even after you’ve disconnected the internet from the computer otherwise they may bill it too as it shows you are still connected to Airtel.I think they do like this because they want the consumers to be driven to unlimited plan which is a bit expensive.I did not like this frankly.

3.Airtel staff which comes for installation are more interested in getting signed their documents quickly from user and then connecting a call to their customer care and pestering user to give good recommendation about them.They should focus more on patiently explaining the guidelines to user about usage of service.We also did not receive the accessories like drivers CD etc. from them and they got the documents signed from us on the pretext that they will give it soon in a day,but we have not received it yet.Do not sign their documents till they give you everything and what is written in receipt.

I will still recommend Airtel broadband service as the speed is fairly good as compared to other services.They give free talktime worth 1000,100 and 10 minutes for an ISD,STD and local number respectively which you provide.Net also doesn’t disconnect as you simultaneously talk on that line.Earlier MTNL net connection used to get disconnected when an incoming call was made on that number.

Airtel people should try and make their service more popular by working on some points.They know it better.
