Hello, Do what you wish to do (sharing) but do not post such info on forums. It is illegal to share connections between two consumers.
But to answer your question, your bandwidth will be equally shared between the two of you. This will not be an issue for standard browsing but for heavy downloads (torrents/RS) your speed with be affected. Remember that a 256 kbps connections gives a max speed of 32 KB/s.

When i pm the mod for such infos he said "whats the forum for' and when i post it on the forum i learn thats its illegal.
I understand. But is a statement in the forum "the final word"? The mod must have said - ask this question; that is what the forum is for.
This is common sense. When you sign up for a service, you get it for a fee. This is not ownership.
For example, you buy a bike and lend it to your friend to use it. That is perfectly legal because you own the bike. But you can't do that with a service. For example, all of the following are illegal:
- You take a landline connection and run a parallel to your neighbouring flat occupied by a friend or relative and you share the costs.
- You take a cable TV connection and repeat the above
- You take an internet/broadband connection and share it the same way
However, if the service is shared in the same apartment/flat/house, it is not illegal though cable providers insist that you pay for multiple TV connections.
Don't take this personally. Please read the post in a neutral post. I am not admonishing you - simply advising you.
Apartment.
Within same apartment? Then you are OK.
Because I thought that you may install a wireless router and share the connection that way across apartments.
Wife swapping is also illegal because u pay heavy fee for it, still it doesnt belong to u!![]()
wife kahaan sae aa gai []
ya its illegal to share BB connection, service providers consider this as reselling without permission... and can put a heavy charge for this...
and as just4kix said you will not face and difference in online browsing but will reduce the speed to half if you will download something on both computers at same time..
I have no idea how it turn into wife swapping topic.
can you please read the previous post by just4kix again and read my post too...
its written in clear words that if you are on same property or same appartment then you can share it but if you are not living on same property then its an issue....
if they are living together then they can use it and no one will infact ask.. but if they are friends and living in different appartments (physical address) then its not legal
i didnt object, ask just4kix who misunderstood d thing. And I read d previous posts, then only I post.
Allright u two get a room or something and smoothvibes i dont live with him(geez ur giving every one the wrong idea) hes a friend who lives below my room(ground floor and mine above).
It is indeed illegal to share an internet connection outside the premises it is provided for unless you have secured resell rights from your isp which is most unlikely in your case.
The reason I asked the thread starter to post his/her query is.. this is what the forum is set up for.. There is another problem with me replying to every ones query and that is that I dont know most of the answers and other members here can be of more help them I can ever be and the replies you get here on the forum will stay here for future visitors who would come here looking to resolve the same issue.
I hope you would appreciate the fact that I cannot single handedly reply to all 80-100 PM's on a daily basis so I sometimes send them all a bulk reply asking them to post their queries in the forums instead and I guess you recieved one of these as well.
sharing a connection will halve your speed if you both download something at the same time but you wont really have any issues while simply browsing and sending small e-mails and stuff.
