Thread: Using/Configure LinkysWRT54G2/G Wireless Router With Beetal Airtel Modem Or Any modem

Need to Configure Linkys Wireless WRT54G2/G Router With Modem Provided By Airtel can Anyone tell how to configure it and is the configuration same for every modem or different(since i have tata connection also so can i configure it for Billion modem provided by them) and what all stuff i need to integrate the Linkys one With my Desktop and my Laptop.Please need info quickly.Going to Buy the Linkys Modem tomorrow so also wanted to know Which modem to go for WRT54G2 or WRT54G modem is there a huge difference and also can anyone tell what price is it available for in DELHI or just a Rough idea of hw much will also do.

Modem by Airtel will be Beetel 110BX1 probably, or Beetel 450BX1 wireless router.
You may not need Linksys modem/s.
Just use change VPI VCI to 1 and 32 for Airtel.
UserID and PW to be changed in WAN page
for "always On" connection.
If you are using "Bridged" Dialup(wanminiport not needed.
Rest all same.
Same for Billion modem. ( mention make )

In Google search type : WRT54G2 pages from India. Around Rs 2500/=

No i am getting the wired modem from Airtel then i want to make it wireless by adding the Linkys WRT54G2/G modem.

The airtel modem acts as router and DHCP server too. but configuring it in bridge mode makes it act as a modem and not as a router and DHCP server. Your wireless router is now the new router and DHCP server.
