    Default Airtel digital tv

    As you all may have noticed that airtel dth is called airtel digital tv in all their advertisments so just thought would start this thread and also a peice of information that I have seen a table of price plans on a few blogs saying Rs30 per month or Rs40 per months for so and so package and this and that... That is just a link bait and nothing else dont fall for it.

    If some one has a genuine list of channels or price plans please post here but please provide the source as well and the source needs to be some reputed site (not user generate content) or airtel digital tv's official website.

    This is exactly what I said on another post that linked to a blog claiming packages and price information.

    I will always wait to have an official announcement and a website presence. Anyway, what is the big rush? Packages and prices will be announced before the official launch. And packages cannot be much different that other DTH players' offers. Prices could make it interesting, however. But then again, I don't expect (pleasant) suprrises.

    One thing to be noted is that product launches are taking place without the supporting infrastructure beig geared up for the support. Reliance BigTV is a classic example.

    Yeh Ive read messages saying theyve been waiting for big tv to be installed for the last 3-4 weeks and so on.

    Go with Dish tv or tata sky I would say and let these new entrants (with lack of infrastructure) come back to us with lower prices and better infrastructure.

    Its under construction.. You wont get a list there .. it gives a data base error when you hit on package details.

    Once they upload it I will take screen shots and post them here.

    As mentioned earlier no one has it yet even their official pages are under construction and only carry package prices with no mention of whats included in those packages.

    Once they make it available I will post them here.

    Default Multiple services on DTH

    In Airtel's official website on 09/10/2008 they were showing cost below silver, gold and platinum packages as 2000, 2500 and 3500 P.M. in the evening when i again loged in P.M. words were withdrawn. If P.M. stands for per month that is horrible. one more thing any idea as to whether both video and audio can go together in Airtel's platform or not. I mean when i am listening to worldspace radio is it still possible to watch television through DTH or starting of one service will restrict usage of another service. Mind it, i am paying or i will pay later or for all other services (approx 10) offered with DTH.

    The different packages are:

    • Silver
    • Gold
    • Platinum
    • South Silver
    • South Gold
    • South Platinum

    Airtel Dth - Pick Your Package

    Click on the plan & then click on the "View List"... a new window (below) opens...

    Default Cost of hardware for Airtel DTH ?

    If any body has the idea about the cost of hardware and installation charges for Airtel digital TV for Delhi State. Please let me know.

    The installation charges are included in the upfront plan charges charged for one year. Starting from Rs.2000/- plans.
    The 2000/- does not look impressive at all. Contains some 65-70 channels many of which are not worth it. I think with the current channel offering, Reliance BIG seems more VFM amongst all players.

    I have Airtel broadband connection at home. Today on 11/10/2008 i called service engineer for some job he confirmed me that Airtel IPTV is going to be launched on Deepawali in north.

    Hi

    Any body noticed in Airtel website they have withdrawn or wiped out list of 10 Worldspace Radio stations from their all packages. Earlier they were there i am sure. Even Silver package is also missing.

    Airtel is still changing offers....

    They everyday add some, remove some channels and bundles. Worldspace offer is one of them. I thought it was good to give worldspace with DTH..

    However big/reputed the company, however massive the launch, however tall the claims about quality and service, never ever jump the bandwagon.

    Let the company settle down, understand their offers correctly, check their claims and then go for it.

    Top mobile operator Bharti Airtel Ltd has tied up with Infosys Technologies to deliver its direct-to-home (DTH) television service.

    As part of the agreement, Infosys will provide technology products that will help Bharti to offer digital and interactive applications on its DTH TV service.

    Correct... no one understands better...
    btw i also got In Digital a couple of days back... 225 channels for 250 bucks a mnth.
    The video and sound quality is amazing even though its not OTA...

    My friend had the list of channel list issued by an Airtel outlet. As per that it is known that, there are four different packages for northern side and three different packages for southern side.

    Monthly charges are 99/-(65 ch); 149/-(65+13ch); 249/-(78+13ch) and 424/-(all 144 ch. including audio ch. all sports channel and interactive channels)for non southern region.

    I'll post again the list of channels and top-up packs after getting the list in hand.

    Compare Apples to Apples ... and not Reliance to Airtel.
    if Reliance makes people wait 3-4 weeks for an installation, does that mean so would Airtel ? I called 18001028080 (AIRTEL DTH toll free) and got the installation done the following day 1st half.

    Reliance ... does it even have a call centre for BIG TV ???

    Hi Gurus,
    I have got a brand new airtel connection. Now I want to connect my multimedia speaker, Creative 2.1 to the STB.

    The speaker has only one input jack, please suggest me the hardware\converter I should use to connect the speakers to STB.

    Speakers used :

    Creative sbs 2.1

    I am airtel digital tv user from last 3 months; my customer ID is 3001265594.
    I am facing strange problem from last two days. I am getting the massage on tv screen that my card is not valid and error no.6.
    I have been contacting on your toll free no. for complaint (no.1444496) of the same from two days but nothing besides the normal trouble shooting exercise; and my daily deduction is also going on.
    Till now not single call from your side.
    Now some questions arrases in my mind:
    Is this the quality of your service?
    Why should I use your service further? Justify.
    And who will responsible for spoiled weekend of my family?
    Hopping positive response from your side soon.
