    can anybody tell me what is the use of usb and view card slot provided in airtel stb?

    The USB port can be used for personal video recording services, which will be introduced shortly via a firmware update.

    Yes, but currently it is disabled. Infact all sorts of PVR functions are disabled and i doubt whether any DTH provider is giving away the same right now. Big TV has confirmed that they will be shortly introducing PVR functionality through a remote firmware update.

    PVR = Personal Video Recorder.

    It is a device that will let you record programs while watching any other channel (even the same channel). In USA, they call it TiVo.

    I was just about to ask what the usb port is for, glad to know i found the answer! So seems like Airtel have planned for future services too!

    No ! at the moment its used only for firmware upgrade of your STB
