Airtel DTH activation was big issue for me. They just promise that connection will be installed in 3 days but it took more than 2 weeks for me. Something or the other just happens. How was your experience?

Airtel DTH is the worst service provider in any field that I have across. I have lodged complaints/requests on three to four occassions and their response has gone from worse to worsest. The latest complaint has not been attended to by their engineer even after 10 days of lodging the complaint and four reminders. Today, I have received an SMS saying that my complaint has been resolved without anyone resolving my complaint or even making an attempt to do so.
I recently read in CHIP magazine of Sep 09 that Airtel DTH services are the worst and they do not respond at all. After that I read the same version on a number of websites.
I wish I had read all this before taking the connection. I would never have taken it. Beware all prospective buyers of Airtel DTH else you will regret it later just like me.
I shall change over to another service provider after my subscription amount lapses.
Airtel will not last long seeing the quality of service they are providing. I have lodged three complaints and everytime i call them for follow up, they give the same stereotypical response. And after two weeks i still dont have any trace of my box.
I dont think they will last long in this sector with this kind of service. I am not going to follow up with them further on and i am moving to consumers forum for these lazy , careless people who take consumers for granted.
the dth service is bad since they must have outsourced it 2 some third class company

Yes they are not doing the installation claming for 48Hrs installation is in air only and customer care executive site on its tel thats why air-tel

They are spoiling their name by providing DTH services in India.
I always face problem whenever I get relocated to new place.
This time it's 10 days over and the issue is that I'm unable to view my channels. It says I have to recharge my dth with Error Code: 6. This is great message when you have balance over Rs.1300 and you feel like handicapped.
Calling Airtel day and night when nobody follows you back on the n number of complaint number generated with them, this has become the bone of contention.
First after so many head hits on Airtel customer care they installed the dish on 6th day! Services was working fine till day.. but the next morning suddenly screen pops up and says to recharge!
Talk to any seniors from customer care to technical department, they are unable to understand the problem and just generates the complaint number.
Everyday they give the schedule of next 24 hour promising that the complaint will be resolved in that max time... but you wont find even on 26th hours!!! Again you call a next complaint number is generated and next schedule is given for another interesting 24 hours... and this keeps on going.
Today I have requested to discontinue the service and they are ready to take itbut I'm not sure the balance Rs.1363/- in my account would be refunded back to me or not

Frustration has its limit and I have crossed this! where I know if I add few more to my balance I can get a new DTH in an hours time.
For those who have relocation problem... never.. never buy Airtel DTH! These guys gonna suck you bad.. you wont get what you expect.
I'm facing this problem 3rd time in one year... and last I have to call a local non-Airtel person to drill my dish.
I totally do not recommend Airtel as DTH service. They are good at upgrading the package but never at after sale service especially when there is physical movement.
I would be happy now to get it discontinued. Let's see they refund my balance or not! I will post the new drama later!

You are obviously an Airtel advertiser in disguise. We get many of your kind. Each one praises their DTH service to utter nonsensical proportions so much so that they become a stone in the shoe.
The previous poster has the right to complain. He is genuinely facing this problem and you are calling him a liar because you are probably in the pay of Airtel, directly or indirectly.
If you have a resolution, help the member; else just don't respond. And please do not call him or anyone a liar.

There are few people who really likes to listen hard truth. But anyway, Im not here to justify myself but to tell you that I got an apology letter from airtel dth after 12 day.
They say the did wrong data entry to their system against my customer id. According to them DTH need to be dis-mounted and then mounted to new location but in my case they actually punched in just reverse and so my account was showing suspended.
After all talking to day n night with regional managers and all tech guys problem is solved at last.
One more information I would like to share that it was always good to mail them rather calling the customer care guys. There mail id is airteldth@airtel.in. Mailing them means you can expect call in max 15 min or so and being a software guy I can tell you that the mail sent to them goes to atleast 5 user desk, who reads them.
