Thread: Cheated by airtel DTH

Hi guys

i had applied for airtel DTH through online after seeing the channel list form their site

1:i opted for south value sports and i payed 1690 rs
2: the package features are 5 months SetMax free
3:the channel list inclued surya tv and kiran tv

after the installation when i check the channels there is nor setmax,surya tv and kiran tv

they are telling now surya and kiran become pay channels so i need to pay extra money for that..WTF...

then i asked abt SetMax , for this also they are telling blah blah... m but finally they put SetMax but for Surya and kiran i paid extra money

this happend 1 week back , but the sad part is they still didnt update the website

so be care ful before applying.....

Everybody, and I mean everyone, puts the clause in fine print:

* ________ reserves the right to alter the channel packages content and price without notice.

(or something like that)

There is nothing one can do about it.

The only exception to the above is TataSky's Annual Mega Pack. If you opt for this package, you will be guaranteed of all the price protection and channel packages as long as some channels do not go into dispute and taken off the air completely from the entire service. You will also get any new channel introduced automatically in that pack. But the pack is costly - Rs. 5,500 per year.

see the my case is....

1:i saw the list of channels from website
2:i order through online
3:got the package channels are not there

THEY STILL DIDNT REMOVE THOSE CHANNELS FROM WEBSITE that means they are still cheating the customers right...

Yes. In the US you could sue them. You can still try the consumer forum route.

The channels and package is the most dynamic part of DTH industry most of the Co.s safeguard their interest by the fineprint there are so may channels that are added sometimes removed also replaced.
