    Default Airtel DTH Or Tata Sky

    Hi,

    Guys i know that several people have asked this and really i have gone through so many pages and only see that people telling Customer service bad in both the cases and am still clueless on what to choose.

    Well Airtel was my 1st choice since i have broadband service of theirs and Service quality is very good but after reading through so many pages i see that people are not even remotely satisfied by Airtel customer service.

    But Airtel Does have the HD only STB for 2699 Which was a kind of package i was looking for.Whereas Tata Sky has Digicomp for 999 but if i go for a HD Tv tomorrow and want HD channels i might have to spend more i suppose.MPEG2 and MPEG4 doesn't matter i have seen MPEG2 and i have no issues with it

    Any way Tata Sky well in my area i see more Tata Sky Dishes than any other but I had Tata Broadband and it was one of the Most Terrible experience of owning a tata product i was paying 900 for the broadband and 500 for call charges.

    So any way i would like to know which Should i choose and Customer Service is really important since i don't want my Family members Shouting at me daily regarding service issues.

    My Requirements are not much in terms of recording and stuff but i might be switching to a HD tv in the next month. But overall picture quality should be good since i am currently using the Hatway Cable which i must say is not that bad in terms of picture quality but only thing is that Channels like NDTV, and some other channels have vanished and Set max also may vanish since they have not paid there dues.


    p.s Customer Service is important these 2 DTH services were in my priority list, BIG Tv is a BIG NO(It is obvious because it is reliance don't want to go into this ) Videocon d2h was tempting but i rather go with my hard earned money in some established players even they are best of the worse :P

    Since you are from Delhi, and you already have Airtel Broadband, why don't you consider Airtel Digital IPTV? Talk to Airtel.

    well i had thought of it but it still doesn't provide me with the kind of channels i require that's why i had to let it go.

    How is that possible? What channels do you need that are missing?

    Well actually a range of Tamil Channels are Missing which my family members will not agree to and also there is a FUP of 15GB on the 1mbps plan whereas i am on the plan which i have a higher FUP limit 512Kbps Day and 1mbps night and it suffices me very well. That is why didn't want to go for IPTV choice of channel is a issue.

    So i am still confused on which to choose Tata Sky or Airtel. Both offer the choosing of particular channels but i am more concerned about the customer service than any other thing actually.

    IPTV sucks. Most of my friends shifted back to DTH as its not stable, channel gets freezed and if your network is down, cable cut etc then your cable -IPTV is also down. So, Just forget about IPTV.

    @OP if you are satisfied with Airtel customer service, why reading so many reviews about comparing customer service of Tata sky and Airtel.

    Every DTH has its pros and cons, and same with the customer service. You will always find mix of comments related to a product or customer service.

    The factors that will help you choose to decide which DTH is best: No of channels you want, package price details, regional channels etc.

    From my opinion: DTH- Go for Airtel DTH , HD- Go for Tata sky DTH

    @neeraj thanks for ur reply i told that i was satisfied with Airtel CC in terms of broadband but interms of Airtel DTH really heard pretty bad things ...Any way i have decided to go for Tata sky HD cost same 2599 and i don't know i have more confidence in Tata in terms of DTH than airtel don't know why.

    I am also using Airtel BB (Delhi) and hv opted for Airtel DTH and its great in terms of the customer service. You are going for HD, thn Tata Sky is best.

    Before upgrading to Tata Sky, call the Airtel DTH or fill the form online to get a call back. They are providing discounts to current BB customers who are opting for Airtel DTH.

    Default harassed by airtel DTH

    DTH Regulator/ Mr Chaube,


    I had been customer of Airtel DTH for a while, and a very aggrieved customer. My story reflects the current state of service being provided by Airtel DTH to their customers. Based on the harassment meted to me by the Airtel DTH, I request you please audit Airtel DTH track record, and if possible cancel their License.
    Hereby please find my story below.
    This is for my Airtel account 3007128702, I paid for this connection in February for a Airtel connection along with the recorder ( amount Rs. 3600), After I paid the money, I called them multiple times fo the installation, the customer service kept telling me engineer would come evening ,he would come morning, but I never saw a face. Moreover they used to raise an issue, and close it even without checking if the installation is done or not. I called airtle DTH customer service more than 50 times during these days, but of no avail. A month back, they told me that they no longer install normal recorder, and then I asked my money to be refunded, for this also I have called more than 15 times, but my money has not been refunded. I don't understand what kind of service it. I have wasted money, time and gone through mental agony for such a small thing.
    This is for my account:3001382295, I have this account for a couple of years now. some 8 days back there was a problem with setup box. I raised a complain. The engineer came and replaced my setup box, but till date my connection isn't working, it had be 8 days, and I am getting no channels. I have made 25 calls to airtel customer care service. Everytime they give me an estimation of 1 hour, but nothing really happens. Till date this isn't working.

    Based on my experience with Airtel DTH, I request you to please impose a high penalty on Airtel for worst service., and also audit their track record, and based on that cancel theiel license. I have talked to theri managers, but of no avail. I have called them so many times that I now know quite a number of people in their call center. But any attempt to meet them is useless, they have no office, no one we can really meet. Its such a horrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend Airtel to anyone. I am a cricket lover, and my idea to purchase Airtel Recorder connection was to record the Cricket World cup, and many tournaments after that are already over, but the connection is still not installed, and my money not refunded.
