Just send a sms, write
START DND
& Send it on 1909

you will get a registration number... by reply sms

You can go to http://www.airtel.in/applications/dnd/DND_mobile.jsp and register to DND (Do Not Disturb registry) for Airtel, to stop advertisement calls and sms.

Would this apply for both voice ads and sms ads?

And do the ads stop immediately?

According to Airtel, the advertisement messages (sms & calls) should completely stop after 45 days.

more easy way just dial *121# then select 4 option all types ads close.

That means after 45 days, no ad SMS and no ad call...
