Since yesterday afternoon in my airtel phone 30 paise is being deducted without any reason. The account information which comes up after making a call, just comes up even when im not using the phone or havent made any calls, saying that last call cost was Rs0.30. Since yesterday it has come around 20-30 times!

May this be because 2 days ago I added Rs75 to my airtel account to get cheap local and STD calls?

Its better to call airtel and check with them, if you already paid for that better rate STD calling card then why are you paying another amount on everyday basis, i am not good with prepaid deals but still can say that it should not be like that.

your handset could be infected with a virus. try using the SIM with any basic handset and check whether the problem continues.

i will try that, but how can it be affected, i mean what may have caused it to get affected?

a virus can get into your mobile through mms, wap, bluetooth, wifi or any similar mode, riding piggy-back on some other file.

oh thats bad, it may be the case because of the above mentioned!

Im still getting the money deduction messages, but less in a day now!

your phone is trying to connect to internet via mobile office and its charges are 0.30 ps per 50kb check all the programs installed that connect to the internet or for the best delete all the connection settings such as mobile office, nop etc

Change your Mobile office or Airtel Live! Account to another or delete the Configuration settings{deleting configuration settings is not recommended though}

I can only suggest that you read your service agreement with a magnifying glass. There are always fees and charges that may be lurking in the fine print. Also, as frustrating as your situation may be, it is often difficult to understand all of the issue if you don't ask questions. Call Airtel. They should be able to put your mind at ease.
