Smile AIRTEL GPRS is back with a bang! :)

Airtel has updated its gprs plans

    VBC89 Plan
    Cost: Rs 89
    Data: 90 MB with 1 month validity + 75 MB/night (12am to 8am)

    YES! That's right.... it's not a typo
You get 75 MB every night! It's like night unlimited... almost!

And by the way... this is in karnataka. Don't know about other stares.

    To activate, send

    VBC89 to 56123

    Ever heard of opera mini?

for me it's akin to unlimited. I use opera mini with images turned off on my HTC Hero. I mainly use net to read news, blogs, forums etc., I hardly get past 10mb in 1 night.

If this is crap then can your 'highness' point us readers to something that is mindblowing!

First of all you have to understand the word unlimited which means with out any limit and considering the current scenario 75MB is nothing i use to download around 100GB per month and even on mobile i use to download around 1GB in a day using idea GPRS Rs 20 per day plan [This is true unlimited].

Even if u consider connecting your phone with computer 75MB will end in an hour.

So you can't compare this plan to unlimited in any way you can say that it is sufficient for an average user like you who only surf on your mobile.

Also i am using Opera for the past 5-6years(when it was paid) both for mobile and windows.

I am not sure about Karnataka , but here in Odisha, we get the following plans in GPRS for prepaid.
    BSNL- 99/- (current)
AIRTEL- 300/- (old info-might have changed now)
    AIRCEL- 98/- (current)
all of the above - 24x7 -unlimited-30 days validity

And I have been using the BSNL GPRS in roaming too with no extra charge.
