Default Airtel cuts down mobile roaming charges

Airtel mobile has now cut down on their roaming charges. These charges are for both postpaid and prepaid customers, but prepaid customers who want this low cost service of roaming charges will be charged for a plan enrollment fee of Rs98 which is the incoming validity which lasts for one year.
This roaming offer is valid as long as there is incoming validity.

    During Home Network

Local & STD Airtel to Airtel mobile - 50 paisa per minute
Local & STD Airtel to other mobile & land line calls - 60 paisa per minute

    During Roaming

Incoming calls - 60 paisa per minute
Local & STD Airtel to Airtel mobile - 60 paisa per minute
Local & STD Airtel to other mobile & land line calls - 80 paisa per minute

Instead of subscribing to Airtel's stupid roaming service, go for SIMPLY RELIANCE PLAN with 3 plans to choose from :
    1) Rs.0.01 per second (Rs.61 for customers taking new SIM and Rs.58 for existing customers)
    visit : rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/prepaid/plandetails_ppsec.html

    2) Rs.0.50 per minute (Rs.51 for customers taking new SIM and Rs.48 for existing customers)
    visit : rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/prepaid/plandetails.html

    and

    3) Rs.1.00 for 3 minutes (Rs.41 for customers taking new SIM and Rs.38 for existing customers)
    visit : rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/prepaid/plandetails_ppcall.html

    .

Mobile to mobile (normal) sms within India is charged Rs.0.50 per sms for all the above plans.

    All Reliance GSM users :

Sms sent during all festival time will be free or as per your plan.

    For example :
If you have subscribed to Rs.25 plan (500 sms free per day within India which is valid for 30 days and applicable on roaming also), then sms will be free.

The above tariffs are applicable on roaming also.

AIRTEL flop. Waste tariff on roaming (Rs.0.60 to Airtel and Rs.0.80 to other networks). Airtel flops. LOL LOL LOL LOL. I think all those who support Airtel regarding roaming tariffs are BLIND. LOL LOL LOL.

Airtel has one of the widest coverage pan India but it is suprising to see that they will not offer free roaming on their own network out side the home networking, meaning if you are a Delhi Airtel customer and go to Jaipur and use the Airtel network there, you will be charged roaming... why? You are still on the same network so why do you need to pay anything extra for that. I think this issue was brought up by the TRAI but as usual telecos must have paid off the people who raised the issue.

    Default No use

All networks (except Reliance GSM) will not offer reduced call rates when roaming on their own network (outside the home location).

This shows the shameless selfish tendency of the mobile operators.

Now a days even TATA and Aircel are giving roaming at 1p/sec with one time recharge.
Also you can't trust reliance GSM network. I am using it in Delhi & U.P. West circle network is not good so i use it as a secondary number. But i do agree that call rates are damm cheap in reliance.

Default No one can beat Reliance GSM

See the roaming sms rate of other operators. Rs.1.00 to Rs.1.50 compared to Rs.0.50 in Reliance GSM.

    Default Hey you slum viper

Compared to Airtel, BSNL is the best in coverage. But BSNL's roaming rates is same as Airtel.

You cannot get coverage in all areas from all operators. If you are mostly bothered about coverage, go for satellite phone and network . LOL LOL LOL LOL.

bro i hv got airtel coverage in remote ares..n even though bsnl might hv the best network coverage thy can never match the service of airtel...though airtel charges r high i agree on tht part but their service is the best as compared to any other gsm or by tht part cdma service in India.....

though the above said may be biased coz I m on their network as well as their bb for more than a yr... still airtel rocks with me...

I have to admit Airtel does have the best coverage even in remote areas! So yes it is really good regarding coverage area! Although Simply Reliance is good with its low cost calls but coverage is a factor too, there is no point have a cheap calling rate and have crap coverage as you wont be able to make calls then! So both factors have to come in in order for it to be adequate!

Coming back to the thread about Airtel cutting down roaming rates, well its good, because it did used to be costly when roaming!

This time round, Reliance started it with the Simple plans. So all other operators have to respond to retain subscribers. But Reliance still offers the lowest roaming rates @ 50p

    Default Ok, parminder

Ok, I will correct myself. Other users are blindly supporting Airtel instead of SIMPLY RELIANCE PLAN. Thats why I got angry.

    To viper :
If you are mostly bothered about coverage, go for satellite phone and network (Thuraya).

Default India - A slum country for Mobile technology

India is not able to allocate frequencies for 3G and defence. So 3G auction is postponed to NEXT YEAR !!!!!.

    India, really technologically SLUM country.

In Singapore, South Korea and Japan they have launched 1Gbps (128 MB/s) broadband for home users. But in India, the maximum speed in BSNL is only 24 Mbps (3 MB/s). In Airtel (only in big cities) only 100 Mbps (12800 KB/s).

Affordability is another factor because Bsnl'24meg and airtels 100mbps you have mentioned have both got sky high unrealistic prices and the other countries you have mentioned especially south Korea has got really low prices.

India is lagging behind only because there is no initiative by the government to bring broadband to the masses...

plan cheap se kya fayda agar call hi na mile....whn u r in emergency need to talk to somebody and the msg comes "the network is busy plz try after sometime",,its pisses u off...n i hv heard this msg sometimes in reliance but usually nothing comes most if the time...and the call drops...

m not anti-reliance but i guess its the nature and the requirement of the person as to wht thing he/she requires...in my case its airtel for me all the time...though i hv reliance but it sucks the most......

    regards
