when manufacturers cant provide 1 year, how can "we provides"
are you a registered firm and have some address?
the modern days are such, many registered chit fund people run away?

what certainty is there that you wont liquidate your firm after selling few hundred such refurbished modem?

it would not workout taking such guarantee as the prospective owner of modem has to send the modem and get it back at his cost. I mean entire packing and forwarding and freight will amount cost of Rs 500. Sorry, rather difficult to believe.
many couriers wont take active electronics material for dispatch to the company.
Instead, i sincerely feel, better we guard ourselves for a better life.

Usually Dept (BSNL) auctions "dead" modems/routers,
You could have cannibalised parts & reconditioned
most of them.

You may also include an offer to repair the customer's
unit, or offer some rebate for the "dud" unit.

transmitters/receivers Airborne Wireless equipment
from disposal items of Defence Forces.
Even Amateur Radio Operators (HAM radio )
have purchased confiscated transreceivers from Customs Dept
for a song ! and made them work. ( A "dying" breed like our tigers !!!)
Modular replacement is the trend now , and even Electronic
students in Engineering Colleges rarely use a soldering Iron.


Even if the on/off switch is faulty/not working, users
tend to buy a new unit.

Shipping/courier charges are normally borne by the customer
one way
( In U.S and elsewhere also) even to send electronic stuff under Guarantee period, to the Service Dept of the company.
Or we have to take it to the Service Dept If locally available.

As the seller has given his mobile number, prospective
buyers will check the points raised by you.

I had worked for digital cards etc servicing and even smd cards serviced before i retired. that is not the issue here. while I honor them for the business they do, the present day scenario makes any one susceptible.
after all any one can give a mobile number. that doesn't amount any address
Perhaps you know how Indian business houses work and how fast they disappear, unlike in US
