Thread: Airtel Gprs or Aircel Gprs

Hey guys,

I am little confused with the selection of the gprs plan between Airtel and Aircel. Earlier, I was using Idea Corp connection that provides unltd gprs for 100rs..but I have resigned from IBM and need to surrender the corporate connection. I converted my Idea to prepaid and they provide 2gb limit for 98rs but they also have 68mb daily limit which is very less.

I am planning to change my no to Aircel or Airtel-Can you please post some reviews which one I should go for in Delhi Circle-using gprs for mobile and pc- Airtel 2gb limit can be increased by multiple recharges so that wont be any issue as compared to Aircel unlimited GPRS. Can I connect the Airtel 98rs 2gb GPRS to my laptop ? any special settings for this ?

Which is the best in GPRS speed in Delhi circle and overall for customer care etc. Please if someone let me guide..that would be very helpful !!

You should go with Airtel, because aircel's network is poor..


btw why dont you try Tata docomo internet.. its sim card is of Rs. 50- 100/- and you can also try its 5/- pack for one day..(gives a limit of 10 mbs)

if you are satisfied with it, you can try its 48/- special recharge* (2gb ,30 days)
or you may try its 95 /- special recharge*.... (6gb, 30 days)

send gprs to 111 to activate 5/- plan for 24 hours...




* special recharge is different from normal recharges...

AIRCEL provides the most ***** GPRS service known to human race i have use this aircel crap gprs for 3 days and believe me it will make your life a HELL don't ever opt for AIRCEL phone GPRS services

i have more problems with Tata docomo...

in the day time it wont connect at all.. and also it gets disconnected like "packet data closed by network"

so i change the access point, connect (it will be disconnected) and than again enter the correct settings... trying and trying and once it will be connected >

its most dumbest internet.. but i have chosen it because of 48/- Rs. plan,, and i think its better for a non-downloader person like me..

i also dont like Reliance net connect..

never gives me a speed more than 5-7 kbps on 1x, on the promised 30 kbps..

they are fooling you because they will charge you 60 paisa in day and 30 paisa at night, even if the speeds are slower..

Thanks to mickey and rcom..Docomo in not availalbe in delhi circle..So I am gonna purchase a new Airtel connection tomorrow and will post the results of the speed..

btw: Is there any way to get VIP no's @Airtel..I am using Idea VIP no which has series like 345678 in the end..I am not able to find this on the Airtel website !!

For Delhi Circle presently the best option is MTNL 3G. Of course their customer care in not worth commenting upon.

I think there 3g plans are bit high...and its hard to find any recharge options for the MTNL coupons but I will surely look for there plans !!

Are you going to use Gprs through laptop or on mobile only. I am using Airtel and after connecting through laptop it gives speed of 120kbps, and if you are lucky and getting better signals it can go upto 192kbps.

Dont ever go for MTNL in delhi signals never come inside the buildings. Its same as it was 4-5 years back. signals never come in my home, the moment i step outside its normal. And check 3G availability for youe area as its still not available everywhere in delhi.

now airtel speeds ranges same as all networks.....230 kbps @ coimbatore city
