Few days back Airtel and Research in Motion introduced new service plans for Airtel customers in India who use Blackberry phones and use Airtel SIM cards for connectivity. They can now use the unlimited internet access and also the Blackberry Personal Mail service plan in an innovative offering that provides Airtel customers unlimited access to Instant Messaging (IM) and email services. The plan starts at Rs 299 and Rs. 899 per month. This is the first plan in India that is offered below Rs 500 to access unlimited email and IM to Blackberry Smartphones in Indian Market.

With the BlackBerry Personal Mail service plan, we are extending the market to a wider segment, allowing customers such as young professionals, small business owners and students to access their email on the move and stay seamlessly connected with instant messaging on their BlackBerry smartphones.”

The new BlackBerry Personal Mail service plan from Airtel is an attractive offering that will enable more users to choose and enjoy BlackBerry smartphones."

The new services of Airtel Blackberry Services allow unlimited access to the industry-leading email and instant messaging features on the Blackberry Platform that allow Airtel customers to access 10 supported POP3/IMAP email accounts as well as various instant messaging services that include Gtalk, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, and Blackberry Messenger from the single device.

To subscribe the new plans for Airtel prepaid customers one needs to subscribe by sending simple a message SMS <airtelbb> to 121 from anyplace in India and get the offers to choose a plan that can be activated by SMS based instant activation. With this plan a person can remain constantly active via email of ‘Blackberry Personal Mail’ while on the move and stay seamlessly connected with IM on the blackberry smartphone. This is a unique offering to the customers in India who use Blackberry phones.

One must note that the plans are meant for Airtel prepaid customers only and this is not applicable to post paid consumers.
